I took out my truck to a new place to bash, warmed it up with some figure eights, checked the temp(perfect), went to mash on the throttle for some fun and nothing. It wound up but wouldn't go anywhere. I picked it up and hit the throttle again and the wheels spun. Put it back down and did the same thing but wouldn't go. I need some advice in a bad way.....gears? drive train? What could it be. I am new to this sport so simple answers would be best. Thanks for any advice, need to get this thing running as fast as possible, it is perfect weather for bashing around here lately.
 
Possibly the clutch...
slipper setting
check the drive axles to make sure you didn't slip a yoke or setscrew.
More unlikely the flywheel loosened on the engine. But that's rare unless you recently stripped the engine down.
 
Check the condition of the spur gear. You may have shaved it a little bit when you mashed on it.

Where would said spur gear be located?

Possibly the clutch...

What model truck do you have?
To build on Candyman's comments...

Your engine has a shaft coming out of it on which rides a clutchbell, The clutchbell has a gear on it.
The clutchbell gear drives the spur (or slipper) gear - which is the big gear that is part of the transmission.
The spur (or slipper) gear usually has a nut that is tightened down so that it does not slip under acceleration and yet can slip when needed to prevent damage to the engine.
If it's too loose or if a slipper pad is glazed, when you gun the engine, it'll spin but the center driveshifts won't be turning over.

If the problem is your clutch shoes (or the loose flywheel), then under increased engine RPM's the clutchbell won't be turning over the spur gear.

If it's your driveshafts - look to see what is missing or broken.

It is a Exceed RC .18 1/10th monster truck. I know it's not the best but i figured it's my first nitro vehicle and i will get some knowledge on this one before I go out and drop some serious cash on a nice one.
