I bought this thing at a garage sale for 20 bux. The guy said it wae dead. All it needed was a new spur gear. I got it running but i can't get a good tune. I'm no noob at tuning but I'm stuck on this one. I got a good hi speed tune running about 200 but i can't get the thing to start without opening the idle screw. Also if I'm running full throtle then let off it dies. Too rich on low needle?? Or is my 30% too much??

the 30% nitro might be part of the problem 30% nitro is mainly used for racing.. IMO alot of guys run 20% I run 20% nitro in all my RIGs pick up some 20% & retry to run a tank & see where your @ & also reset LSN & HSN to factory setting that might help to

I got a great tune on my hpi mt with the 30. What wood Factory settings b on the xxx nt??? My hpi mt factory settings is flush prolly the same for the xxx nt?? I dont have any manuals for the motor i found one for the car but i can't find one for the motor any help on that??

I stripped down my engine. Checked it out everything looks real good. Put it back together and sealed everything up. Stripped the carb as well and cleaned it. Switched down to 20%. Downloaded the manual. It said 3 1/4 turns out on high needle and 3 turns out on low needle for initial break in. I still can not get this dam thing to run good. Wtf? I can only get it started with it wide open. And when i can get it to get going if i run full speed then let off the gas it dies. Adjusted the thing rich, lean, up, down, left, right. Nothing seems to work. Any advise besides a new engine???

Original carb settings are very rich. Start by leaning your LSN one full turn and see if it starts and idles. It will need some tweaking on the needle as well as the idle screw. Don't make any adjustments till it's warmed up, and drive it around a little between adjustments to let it 'settle in'.
Once you get it to idle and take off without hesitation you can start leaning the HSN for WOT.

Idk what i am doing wrong. This dam thing wont run. can't get it to run for longer than about 30 seconds.

I decided to try my 30% just for you know whats and giggles and bam, it freaking works. Great tune nice idle this thing runs balls to the wall fast. I love the 2 wheel drive, drifting turns, burning out. Pretty sweet. Thanks 4 the help.
