went to put the 24.7 out of my mammoth into my new savage, and i noticed after putting on the clutchbell, the end of the crank stics out about an eigth of an inch. The mammoth used 2 gears on the cb. Is this a specific motor for the mammoth?

No it's the industry standard SG crank. It should work fine on the Savage. You have to look at your savage manuel and figure out what you are missing, the savage uses a brass spacer on the shaft somewhere, I had one when it first came out and can't remember howit went together, should be very simlar to most buggy clutches, maybe you are missing one of the bearings, there are two on that clutchbell.

I thought they were pretty standard..thanks for the help.

I had to buy a GPM adjustable motor mount to fit the 24.7 pro in my Savage. Without the motor mount it looked like this:

After I got the mount it went in fine.I did have to Dremal out the TVP a bit to clear the allen head screws on the motor mount though.

I need the brass spacer that goes on the end of the clutch bell (p/n 86121) I just hope the lhs has them.

Should be able to find something to work, not that rare. I notice in the picture that he has a different flywheel and the clutchbell is quite far ahead, with stock clutch you will have no problems.

Hi Tidd, I did some checking on the spacer for you and you can use a ofna shim kit instead of the brass spacer..that thing wears out too quick anyway. Also MAKE sure you have a slight amount of endplay in your cluchbell, 1-mm should be ok. Just make sure that there is alittle movement in the clutchbell when you wiggle it back and forth and that it spins freely. Here is a link to some discussion on savage clutches. At that site do a search on brass spacer andyou will get lots more info and pics of the clutch. http://www.savage-central.com/ftopic26591.html+spacer+clutch
