1st off long time no see guys!!! (Sorry I have been away so long)

Lately the backplate on my 24/7 has been backing off. Every time I tighten it the motor will not turn over. If I loosen it it will turn over and start but in 15 20 minutes it will die due to the back black backing off again...

Is this common? What can i do to fix this? How tight should it be?

Never had that problem with either of mine...
I did have a problem with the pullstart. The plate being made of nylon? was a little thinner where the bolts had been tightened. The pull start spool was rubbing the center and not going back in.
I made a gasket out of paper. Was just enough to let it work.

Take the backplate off and see if it is crushed a little towards the crank. If it is, make a gasket and try it.

Good luck. Let me know if it works.

Can you guys tell me about how long the one way bearing and shaft last?

I have about 1/2 to 3/4 gallons though it...

Only time I have trashed a one way was using an electric drill for a rotostart.
Don't use a drill without a clutch. :hehe:

Could have did some real damage if it wasn't for the one way.

I have a couple of these engines. There should be a small oring around the backplate, near the flat-back part of it. Provided there's an oring there, the next thing to check is the screw-holes. The screws on mine have literally pulled through the backplate, ripping the holes to shreds.

My next project is to make a metal version of this, out of an S25 plate. Everything is the same, except the hollow where the one-way fits, and the clearances for the screw head.

I know how to do this project, but need someone that has the tools. Anyone interested?
