ok i plan to go 21 with my maxx I'm thinking of using the xtm kit I'm a person who not only can't afford a supper maxx but dont really want a supper maxx but i want a 21. so I'm here to ask if any one has used it and if it is a fairly good kit. also when going 21 if i get the 24.7 will i need to cut the crank on the sg crank or just use there nut?

i need to know all there is I'm not new to nitro but am new to the big blocks. my present creation is a 15 picco powered maxx with alum arms and bulks rrp rear diff fctry frnt. but this does not seem to be enough power for me still so I've decided to move up to the world of the big blocks finnaly.
sorry for the length of the post any help would be greatly apreciated:bow:

By the time you add up all the goodies to convert the maxx, you could have purchased a savage.

You may want to price everything before you make the jump.
just one mans opinion.

If you include the price of the engine it cost me $105 to do a .21 conversion on my Maxx. I built some chassis extensions, moved my tranny 1 hole forward, built a mounting plate for the engine, cut the front drive line, got a long rear, epoxied 3/16 aluminum rod in the center of my drive shafts and axles, and threw a traxxas FOC in the tranny. Works great only thing I have broken thus far was a spur gear and that was because I got in a hurry and didn't set my mesh right. Here is a pic of the conversion:

You wont have to cut the crank. I would go with the t-maxx. They have more after market support than the savage. They have also been out longer so you wont have to wait monthes to get aftermarket parts.

This may be a laugh but I'm thinking of going to .21 with my *cough* Magic Wheel someday, it'll be a real experience and will have to have the guy at the LHS help me out with parts he has. IF I succeed, I'll post on the total cost and pics and results. Right now the .15 powerplant is plenty (I think it produces around 1.3-1.5 hp), almost but not quite as good as my neighbour's TRX 2.5 powerplant (mine lacks some bottom end pick up, but I blame the quick gear shifting). While I'm thinking of a .21, which do you recommend? I'm considering a Hyper 21 8port (I heard they fit on T-Maxx bodies with little conversion).

I'm thinknig of going with the EZ Starter kit or the "drill" style starter kit, and if I go with drill kit I'm redoucing a great deal of weight.
