I have a new X Factor 2, I just finished the break-in and am started to do the fine tuning. It started out as at half throttle and lower it would run great, but when it approched full throttle it will start to bog down. It will shut down completly unless I back off on the throttle, sometimes stopping instantly. I have since started over from factory settings, several times. It now won't idle unless the idle stop screw is screwed all the way in, and then I still have to trim the transmitter some to give it more throttle, then it will idle. I have the LSN at about 2 1/2 turns out, and the HSN at about 2 1/4 turns out. I'm running Trinity fuel, and a medium cold plug after break-in. When I do get it running it still has the same hi-end dying problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Martin

First off XTM recommends to use an MC-59plug (hot). When it bogs down is there alot of smoke or none at all?

There might be less smoke, not for certain at the moment. In there manual for the motor I have, it reccomends a hot plug for break in, then it says you can go to a medium cold plug after that.

well you could try richening the hsn, then when you get wot is shouldn't be going very fast and it should sound rich. Then from there lean it slowly until you have a power without hesisatation (sp) and there should still be a bit of smoke. Try this then let us know how that worked.

Do you have a temp gauge? might be a good idea to get one of those.

I do have a temp gun. The temps have run between 180-230 max. I will be calling XTM, and will start the tuning over from scratch with the settings they recommend.

180 is pretty cool. If your engine is running that cold then it could be stalling because of that. You can go up to about 270 with out problems. Try it at 240-250 and let us know how that goes.
