alright, i have recently purchased the XTM 24.7 motor and have not ran it yet do to i need a pull start. anyways i was wondering what kind of glow plugs should i use in it. 1 guy told me that i should us MC 59's during the break in and then go to MC 9' after break in. also i was looking at the cooling head on it and i think that he head looks pretty small. i wanted to know it i am going to need to get a different head to cool the motor down a little bit more?

The stock head on the motor is really small. I use an MC8 plug in my 24.7 and haven't had problems and it runs fine. I'm going to try the o'donnell plugs and see how those run. XTM just put out a new cooling head for the 24.7. The thing is huge or Nova makes a good cooling head for that motor also. I have the 24.7 big head on my motor and I'm getting temps of 200-220.

i was just wondering if u know where i could get my hands on 1 of them XTM 24.7 big heads. i am going to run MC59 until i have my motor fully broken in and then i am going to try the MC 9's.

thankz

The only place I know you can get them would be from Hobby People or you can get a Nova head also. Here are links to both.

With the stock head I would run between 250-270. Since, I bought the XTM big head I'm now getting temps of 200-220.

I want to lean it out, but I read somewhere that if you upgrade to a bigger cooling head that you shouldn't. Any opinions on this?

thats what temp i seem to be running right now in the 230-280 range. i am going to go with the nova head though.

i havent heard or read anything about upgrading to a cooling head and then not being able to lean it out though.
