hi having problems with the XTM .18 engine (standard on XTM x-cellerator)

We were playing with it when it cut out (empty fuel tank) and when we went to restart it with the roto-start it just spun (flywheel didn't move at all) so i took the back plate off and went to fix it. In there i found all the normal parts (crank, con rod etc etc) and a little black thing with 2 cut out holes (i think the holes line up with the pin on the con rod) so i lined it up, put the one way bearing on (a weird bearing like a normal one but with a shaft attached to it)
But it still just turns over (flywheel still not turning over), so i took the one way bearing out, put the shaft through the backplate and into the little black thing (mentioned above), and the little black thing did spin but if you apply the smallest amount of pressure and the shaft just spins inside the little black thing. So only having ever worked on .21's and above i'm stuck, any suggestions greatly appreciated:bling:

Thanks

Not sure if I understand your post but have you checked to see if the clutch nut is secured?

Can you turn the engine over just be holding the one way bearing? Or, can you spin the flywheel with the engine not turning? Sounds to me like a loose clutch nut, or a bad one way bearing or shaft.

yes the flywheel turns over by hand. It isn't a loose clutch nut because i have taken the glow pluf out to see if the piston goes up and down but it dosn't. How does the one way shaft grip the little black thing? (black thing looks like a bearing but has a cut-out hole on the back whihi, presumably, the pin on the con rod sits in)

If you can spin the flywheel and the piston does not move, then your clutch nut is loose.

If you pull the pullstarter/rotostart and the flywheel does not move, then your one way bearing needs to be replaced.
