I Purchased the M18 kit from my LHS yesterday and started the build.
My first impressions of the kit are great. I must say out of all the kits I have built (More than 10) that the directions are the absolute best I have seen. A color book that has large accurate pics and 1-2-3 directions for every step leaving nothing to ponder over. Because of this I can recommend the kit to a firs time builder and the expert as well.

All the bags were properly filled, labeled, and noted in the directions. The entire chassis build not including motor and electronics took about 2.5 hours and required no additional tools other than an exacto knife, and that wasn't a requirement. The kit comes with a top notch Phillips head driver and an Allen wrench.

Xray does one of the best molding jobs I have seen on their plastic parts and everything fit and works properly without tweaking. The diffs and power train are smooth as silk. Believe it or not the chassis rolls freely on the ground with a little nudge. Again I need to say the kit is one of the best I have ever built including the Mugen.

I ordered a micro servo, foam tires, motor mount for a 280 / 300 can, and a battery. I'm hoping they will get here sometime this week. I have a Spy ESC and am hoping my standard Airtronics radio will fit. If not I will need to get a micro receiver sometime soon.

Once it is done I will post a few pics.

I saw he had them for half off, made me want to try one, Hey Ed what happened to no more RC's for awhile? Someone got the itch!!! LOL. I think I might pick one up at that price just to check it out. Whatch out for the known motor overheat problem. YOu will either need to dremel holes in your chassis to let the motor breathe or you will need a alum fin for your motor and some creative cutting of the body. The reason it over heats is 1 lack of air blowing on the motor (not a problem with the micro rs4 do to it's rear placement), and 2 the bigger pinion gear that the kit uses when compared to a micro rs4 helps the motor heat up faster.

I enjoyed building the kit as well. The instruction manuel was very detailed.

Eddy- Post some pics of her when u get the electronics on her. And what was the total u spent on the electronics and motor?

I got the kit for 50.00 1/2 price. There are still more available for this price.

25.00 Servo
12.00 4 foam tires.
35.00 Motor
14.00 Battery
Spy ESC I have already
Airtronics RX I have.

The esc and motors can vary in price as you know. I will post some pics and specifics on the electronics later.

I fitted a micro body I had painted a while back although the kit came with one as well. When its all together I will post some pics.
