Well after all the bagging I did of the XL I fell to the cardinal sin, I went out and bought one, and yes, I do like it.
But I have met with one guy that has blown 5, yes 5 diffs in his.
I blamed his driving, because I dont really like him, but now I'm asking the world.
Is there a problem with smashing diffs in these, or was I right?
If there is a problem, where can I get stronger ones?

That is a good question....I have had two Savages....LRPs in both....beat the crap out of them and have never blown a diff out. Even with the weak .25 diff. I'd say you are correct Brushless it is just him. At least that will be our story.... :)

I've had my XL for about 2 months, about 6 gallons worth of bashing. (yeah I like to drive as often as possible:D) I have broken 4 diffs. 3 of them have been just the pinion gear. One of those was due to a bearing failing and causing the carrier to tilt and taking out the pinion. The first three were all on the rear. The last one, the front diff, I broke the ring gear right off of the carrier - broke all four bolts holding it on. I think this happened after the pinion failed and I kept driving, forcing some pieces of the broken gear between the ring and pinion gear. Three of these failures happened landing large jumps...probably driver error:(. One of the rears just let loose while I was tearing it up on the dirt. This is a very heavy truck with alot of power. I am currently gathering up parts to try out the CEN conversion. One more thing, nothing on this truck ever broke until I put on some 40 series BigJoe Tires.:\

Ok then. My next question.
I have a Savage X with CEN diffs..... Are the XL diffs the same as the X diffs..... Or at least will the X diffs fit?

The only differance between the X and XL diffs are the output shafts for the dogbones. I think the ones on the XL are alittle larger. All of the other parts are interchangable.
