How does it do with the monster tires on there? Really cool looking build!
Thank you! As a “trail truck” it does awesome. It monster trucks over anything and has traction for mud, sand, whatever may come. On the rocks, it doesn’t have much traction and speed is your friend lol.

It's really sweet! Scx10 stock axles and gears?

The axles are AR-60s and the trans is a plain Axial 3-gear. Both were pulled from a SMT-10. The chassis, links, and driveshafts are a mix of SCX-10 parts and pieces. This was a true spare parts bin build lol.

Don't worry, when you start a new job it's normal for things not to go well at first.
one of my all time favorite quotes from that movie
loved the rig! that looks so cool, howd you get those honkin monster tires to turn??

Underrated movie for sure!

To get the monster meat moving, there are 15mm hub spacers behind the wheels and Amazon's beastliest 45KG aluminum high voltage servo connected to a homemade stainless steering link which is driving a modified SMT-10 lower steering link. I kept breaking the rod ends off the stainless one I made so I resorted back to plastic. There's a LOT of flex in the front end of this wonky beast lol.

Totally jealous. I tried this but my wheels were tge wrong offset and rubbed. Got any videos? 😁🫠

Oh yeah! I didn't really get the truck "broken in" and running well until right before the snow hit us. You'll notice in the first video, a shock hanging off the upper mount lol. I cannot wait until the snow clears to get out and bash the rocks some more with this thing.
