Although this is a nice little truck, it just doesn't fit with my RC family. Its to big for in the house, and to small really for outside where i run.

I drove it about half a pack before i parked it so its still like new. This was outdoors though, so the tires are dirty, thats about it.

Its pretty fast for its size, and I think if you tightened up the rear diff, it would be more fun. It was spinning the front tires a lot.

you can view specs here

http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/105502/

Since i won it on the raffle, i would prefer to trade for something i can use.

The truck runs about $100 - $120 new, so keep that in mind when you offer trades.

Looking for 3s lipos for the slash
brushless system for the stampede (vxl)
10th-8th scale rigs
or other trades. I'm open to entertain just about anything interesting.

I just bought 1 of these for my daughter (7) and she really likes it, i have found the fronts do spin alot, and there is also a clicking sound in the front wheels, i called HPI and they told me it was normal......."i guess"he did tell me if i had any problems with it to call him back....she really likes the truck but it does need smooth surfaces to run on and batteries dont last long at all.

i havent really looked at it, but i bet the diffs are ball diffs. you should be able to tighten it up a little to help. I didnt see a center diff, or a slipper, but it acts like it has a center diff that is a little loose.

this may me intentional by HPI to help with wheelies.

EDIT: I looked at the link, and it does have ball diffs. tightening up the rear should help freak.

dont have a clue. i dont have a way to test it.

i was impressed with the speed though.

Not really. If I went back to nitro it would be a savage.

I would guess about 20 mph on a good smooth surface.....my LHS told me i could buy a brushless setup for this truck for 35 bux and get it up to around 35 to 40 which IMHO is smokin for a 1/18 scale truck

bgbdwlf what kind of jato you have?

tmaxxfreek,

I checked this one, and if you remove the drivers side rear upper control arm, fold the lower, hub, and wheel down and remove the axle. you can see a small Allen screw inside the diff cup. that is how you tighten the rear diff. I turned it about 4 times and it seems WAY better. All i could do was putt around in the garage since its wet and dark outside, but it handled better. I did see a little push in the front end, but my garage floor is super slippery.

BUMP!! anyone want to trade? couple of days here then it goes to craigslist.

4 full turns? I will check it out tomorrow and see if i can improve hers, does yours make the clicking sound in the front wheels? If i pick this one up and hit the throttle it makes the front wheels shake side to side when it clicks.......HPI told me it was normal.

i heard a light click, but i think it was the dogbones clicking in the cups.

specs? any mill or electronics? or true roller?

It is a bastard X. Well, it's an all X except for the Tranny case and A-Arms, I think the 25 arms we a lot tougher which is why I put them on. It has three speed and a stock T/B servo no steering. Fresh rebuilt alloy case diffs w/extra parts and never ran bulks/tower combos. No engine at the moment but I have several laying around. I would toss in a HB .26 if you wanted it. Has stock chrome tuned pipe. (not plastic) No tires, I am trying to get some for mine at the moment too. I was going to post it up in the FS section before too long. It would need some work and minor parts. I would say, it needs engine, servos, tires, body, receiver of course (I have several AM but who wants those?) and maybe $25 in parts to up and running. I would say all in all $200 if you did not take the .26 would put you in a good running Savage.

i think that is a little to much project for me right now joe. i just dont have much time or cash to spend on RC. I will check it out when you post up the for sale thread, and check out the pics though.

Thanks.

Yeah I know what you mean. I had two rollers and built one out of the two with just a few parts left to get for the other. I have a ton of stuff in storage; just coming here to Korea I was only able to bring a few things with me. Such is the way of life.:\
