So I have a HTC Incredible....They just did the 2.2 update on it today. Well here comes the BS...They pretty much junk up you phone with useless apps and random bulls@*t that can't be removed. To name a few, Mobile Skype, Amazon mp3, 3g Mobile hotspot, Facebook, Face book for htc sense, Stocks, Peep, Twitter...
I dont get why they feel the need to w/o option jam someones phone full of this crap. And the bad part is they just randomly start in the background. Ill make a call then the amazon mp3 will be on the running list. Such bs. Ok I just need to vent a little about. Its been pissing me off all day. may be the last HTC phone I buy because of it.

Here is the solution. LOL

Bad enough that they put it on, but not being able to get rid of it is total BS. They must be taking lessons from Microsoft.

They get PAID for every 3rd party app they include. It really sucks when you're forced to accept programs you don't want, use or need.

I sent a good email to HTC not that it will do any good. But there has to be people that complain about it. Its almost like getting a car and say Toyota just gets to come put air fresheners, diff color carpet etc whenever they want. Other than that I love this phone... fn htc

go here... www.xda-developers.com... i have had htc phones for about two an half years now. with AT&T servoce. the phones are amazing, but the carrier junks them up.
go to the forums, search for phone name and follow the noob guide for flashing the device, update to custom firmware and have the ability to customize as YOU need, not as some company says you need. all the htc phones are pocket sized laptops, use it as such and change that operating system. if you have any probs or questions feel free to msg me at [email protected] and i will be happy to help you with it. nick

If you use the forums like klown said, they have information on how to root your phone. This will get you a clean OS install and get rid of all of the "bloatware" that they are forcing on you. On the other hand, I actually like FB and the 3g hot spot and am seriously thinking about rooting my htc Hero to get the hot spot capability.

^ Thanks guys, I was really not wanting to have to do that to another phone. You would figure a phone like this would just let your uninstall. Looks like I may try that when I get home.

hamz hit the nail right on the head. the carriers fill it full of bloatware that promotes their services, which in turn makes them more money. when the manufactures make the phones and put their services on em and then they "lock" the apps to the device. you may be able to find an uninstaller for the phone on xda site that will allow you to remove them without flashing a new rom to the phone. again, good luck and any questions feel free to msg me. i have flashed three diffrent htc phones... original tilt, fuze and now i have the tilt 2. in my opinion, flashing them is the only way to have em.

I rooted my HTC Incredible and love it. I have 2.2 with the 1.00.03.04.06 radio and Virtous v2.4 (with Sense UI). The instructions at XDA are SUPER easy, but I have one suggestion. Once you have the root (and new radio if you want to add it) STOP. Since you already downloaded ROM Manager from the Market go no further. Just use the ROM Manager to download and install any ROM directly to your phone. No need in going through the steps to download the software to your laptop then onto your device.

Trust me; if I can do it so can you!

I just got the Epic, and I've been thinking about rooting it.. but i havent found anything i can't do with it so..
