Yep, thats right, I want the worst rc air filter ever made, lol, sooo if anyone has one collecting dust in their parts box please let me know. Thanks

the last one i got, (for my 1:1) was from walmart for about 10 bux.. just in case you can't find one here..

OK, I'll be the moron here and ask. Why are K&N filters crap for RC's? They are one of the best 1:1 filters out.

Griemar, I know what you mean. When I got my first nitro, and saw a K&N air filter, I was ready to order a whole case of them. I've never had a street car that didn't have one, and when running a filter on my race car, it's K&N. The answer is quite simple though, the paper style filter is just not a good design for a nitro engine. The K&N filter will allow fine sediment to enter the engine, which destroys the cylinder wall and the piston. The oiled foam filters do a much better job of filtering the fine sediment, especially the 2 stage filters like the motor saver filters. I've seen engines that have run for 2 bash sessions and been destroyed by the dirt that got into the cylinder. I'm K&N's best spokes person, and personally I don't think they should even advertise them as RC filters because it gives them a bad name. If you were not running in any dirt, and were strictly running your RC's on VERY clean concrete, then I think the K&N MIGHT be ok. But most RC's out there see off-road use or at best dirty asphalt. Trust me, stay away from them. It might be ok, but it's a HUGE risk you'll be taking.

Thanks Charlie, I was just simply curious on "why". Never gave it a thought about the paper cone vs the oiled filter. It does make sense now that you mention it. I bet a nice K&N cone filter would look great on a shelf queen though, lol.

You bet, if I had a nitro shelf queen it would have one. I'm thinking it's a breather filter.

I'm thinking it's a breather filter.

BINGO! That's exactly what they were made for, and that is exactly what I want one for, I want to put on on my 89 YJ as a breather filter.

I hit wally world, nada, stopped at Auto Zone nope, but a bigger bunch of dumb asses I have never seen. So I thought I would see if anyone here had one they removed from an rc so I could give it a home where it belongs, on my valve cover. :D

Try a local motor cycle shop. I had one on my old xr400 for a breather filter. Worked like a charm! I bet they'll hook you up.

NC, if you would have just said that you needed a breather cover we could have avoided all this mess lol. I do have several of them, but it will probably be a little while until I go out to the storage building where I keep them. I'll look around here at the house and see what I can find. In the meantime, I would be willing to bet that an Oreilly's or Advanced in your area has them in stock. Those are the two stores in our region that carry the most performance type bolt-ons like that.

No Oreillys, no advanced here. I was gonna stop and check at either AID or Napa, but Napa is usually more expensive than everyone else.

Well I was gonna say that I had one but now I'm gonna put it on my 89 YJ . Good thinking NC..

Wow, that really sucks. I don't know if I could survive without Oreilly's. Even when I don't need anything, I can always go in there and buy something I don't need, because I'll always need it eventually.

I'm getting ready to sell an MSD 6AL ignition and an MSD Blaster 2 SS coil. The coil has never been used, I got the igntion from a guy who owns a racing shop here in town, and he said it had only been used a few times. I really trust him so I feel like that's the truth. It's just been sitting here for a few years. If you can use it in the jeep, let me know. I'll work out something special to help you out with the new project.

Do you know if that system will work on the 258 I6 in my Jeep? If so I would definitely be interested.

Freebie, but I get $30 an hour just to look for it. You better hope I'm REEEEally lucky.

PM me your Addy.

Thanks man!

Ya wize guy, yo.
It's only temporarily shelving. Waiting for the last of the parts to stretch the chassis.
Believe me, I almost got one, but wouldn't waste my money on it, even though it was chromed and beautiful.
