I am looking for an electric offroad rig for my girls son.

he normally sits around the house all day playing video games, but any time that I'm doing something he is right there asking questions and stuff. he is 12 years old and i think RC would be a good thing for him to get into. and if he looses interest, i get another rig!! He broke his arm back in February and had to have surgery to put in pins and plates. the bones aren't healing correctly so he has to have another surgery and is still in the cast. I feel sorry for him since he can't go swimming, to the beach, ride a bike, or anything. :surrender

His dad doesn't do anything with him, and he hardly ever even goes over there to visit. He didn't even go on fathers day. His dad was a drop out, dope head, and can't keep a job long enough to pay child support regularly. so i want to be there for him and do fun stuff with him. :second_place:I hope the responsibility will help him mature a little as well.

I'm in process of buying a house for all of us to get them out of this tiny apartment and i don't have a whole lot of expendable cash, so I'm looking to my RC family to help me out.

I know when i fire up the revo for the first time, he is gonna flip so. I'm looking for a offroad electric rig in RTR shape or close. I think starting with electric would be better for him. i prefer something with a bit of ground clearance, since it will be driven at the park or the yard in grass. like a stampede or something similar. I have a few servos and such, but an esc, rx/tx, and battery would be great. rigs with small repairs needed are fine. It will help him learn the rig before he even drives it. I would love to get a new pede or even a slash, but i just can't do $200 right now.

Does anyone have something there not using? prefer popular brands so i can find parts when (not if) he breaks it.

I would like to keep it in the $100 range max, since i can get a new pede for $180. but will entertain offers for rigs with upgrades. I also have some revo parts, savage bits, etc i can trade.

Thanks in advance for helping me and sorry for all the gory details, but this means alot to me. he is a good kid, just needs some "adult supervision".

That sounds like a great thing you are doing for him. If you end up with a 1/18 scale I have a hummer body that you could probably make fit. I have no idea what its off of and I realize you want something bigger, but its about all i've got thats not tmaxx or savage. so if you want it for him or yourself, just shoot me a pm. Not what you wanted but just trying to help out, I have a child myself and I have a soft spot for kids.

man i just sold my rusty for 60 bucks and it had upgraded esc and motor neede batteries but hope you find what your looking for and good luck man.

Sorry man i'm getting my first electric sent to me right now. Still just getting into the hobby.

There's my RS4, but you'll need a transmitter. That's about it. But right now I have a deal pending on another forum. I'll give you some updates on it if the other trade falls.

I think I may have some stuff. I'll hae to see what I can part with. I sold several things but I still have a lot of RC's. I know I'm getting ready to sell a 1/18 scale electric, would you be interested in that?

charles, i would prefer something with a bit of ground clearance. i had a 1/18th mlst at one time and never messed with it cause it was to big for the house and to small for outside.. (IMO). it may be a good start for him though, see if he even likes it. lmk what you find and ill see what i can do.

If you have or can get batteries and charger I can send you an XL Bandit, (brushed) with transmitter. But you'll pay the postage from australia. But shouldnt be more than 70 or 80 aussie dollars.

thanks for the offer brushlessboy, i will keep that in mind if i cannot find anything in the states. i have a charger or 3 and batteries aren't so bad.

If you do end up with a 1/18 scale I could send you that lid for the price of the postage.

prolly not anything u want but wouldnt be bad for a kid, i have my old "mad truck" sitting here doing nothing, it needs the shock tower for the front and a body but the parts are cheap for it.

128 views and nothing?? wow.. bump?

I don't have any electric stuff but I think i'm going to sell one of my nitro pede's in the next week or so...I dont know if those can be easily converted over to electric but if you would be interested in a nitro roller to convert to electric...I'd just pull the engine...

If you're interested send me a PM and i'll get you some pix and let you make an offer on it...

bumping this up, house is bought so i have a little cash to play with, really looking for an electric pede in good condition!

I don't know what your budget is, B, but those new Traxxas Slashes are the bomb! I saw them at my local Hobbytown USA for 199.99, RTR.

Wish I could offer you something, but the only electrics I have are some old RC10 Gold Tubs I restored for my kids to bang around with.

i have a rusty for sale with "the works" was trying to get $175 for it but if you have some revo parts for trade. let me know, we can work something out
