I'm building a wraith kit and was hoping for some help picking a brushless setup that will run well on 3s LiPo... I've been eying the novak combos; 13.5T wraith, Timbuk 2 18.5T, Crusher 18.5T & 21.5T.
I'm not looking to go real fast I have a savage for that. I guess I'm looking for reliability, mad torque and some speed with good runtimes.
Thanks for any and all help!
oops wraith not wrath hehe

A lot of people use the traxxas vxl system because it's water proof or the Famous Mamba max pro and tekin pro 4 because it's a sensored setup giving it the low speed torque without clogging. But I would seriously consider brushed! A nice brushed setup will exceed your needs :) the holmes hobby 13t crawl master and the hh brxl esc that can easily run 3 cell lipos.

Do you plan on doing any crawling or is it a basher only? Does it need to be waterproof?

As mentioned above, what are you going to use it for mainly?

Something else to consider is that a high power brushless setup on 3s in a Wraith is going to start shelling out drive train components fairly quickly.

The newer Novak stuff isn't what they used to be, and I personally would stay away from it.

On the cheap, the Hobbywing Xerun setups are tough to beat for the money. Make sure to get a sensored system if you plan on doing any crawling as mentioned above.

The Castle MMP / Tekin pro4 or ROC412 is a tried and true proven setup. But, again, you'll need major drive line upgrades to handle that kind of power and torque. This is the combo I went with, and it's a beast of a setup. Good power on 2s, silly power on 3s, and full retard on 4s. :D

I am mainly thinking crawler/ playing on technical trails. Waterproof would be fun hmm!... I don't mind upgrading drive line as thats half the fun... thanks for the input so far, It's great to get some advice on this from folks who know. I only have nitro experience. I will look into the mamba / tekin system as well as the holmes brushed set-up. Thanks all

I just bought a tekin pro4 4600kv and MMP for my wraith. Should have it in this weekend and i will post back.

I ran a MMM and tekin 21.5 on 6s on an old scx and it was great. Super smooth and crazy fast.
