Overall, it's in farely good condition. If I wasn't going to do serious drastic changes, then it wouldn't really take a whole lot to get it running again. The previous owner did some ghetto fabulous repairs with the wrong size screws, but it's really not that bad. Also, the 12 cv-r that came with it seems to have no been ran in awhile since the carbeurator seems to be gummed up. So i'll need to clean it and make sure the engine runs before I sell it. Overall though, i'm very satisfied and this'll make an excellent project car.

The following were my original mod list:
-Wasp .28
-.21 header/pipe
-Wolf Pack Radicals .21 conversion
-Wolf Pack Radicals ntc3 2 speed conversion kit
-HPI Proceed Threaded Shock Bodies
-3 shoe lightweight flywheel
-Aluminum Clutch
-New Gears for top end speed
-Proline Race Body (haven't decided yet)
-NIMH 5 Cell Battery Pack
-Venom Failsafe

Now, after looking over the car, I found a few places that will need new parts:
-RCScrews.com screw kit (the screws in it now are pretty random)
-New aftermarket throttle/brake linkage (the one installed now will work but is way too ghetto for me)
-Wolf Pack Radicals Chassis (current one doesn't have adjustable motor mount holes, nor countersunk holes in some places)
-2 Robinson Racing Drive Pulley's (current ones are stock plastic ones)

For mods currently installed
Belt tensioners all around
Wolf Pack Radicals Upper chassis
Robinson Racing Ball Diffs front/rear
Robinson Racing Top Shaft Pulley
Robinson Racing Drive Pulleys
Robinson Racing RS4 Brake kit
Some Aluminum Steering kit
And then a few random aluminum parts

I'm pretty excited about the car. Too bad it will probably be until Summer before it's fully the way I want it. I'll tell ya, it'll be a real screamer when i'm done with it.

Nice find. If you don't mind me asking, what did you have to give for it? I'd like to find a good cheap RS4 2 to trick out

I got it for $166 shipped...generally for a roller, it was pretty high, but when I factored in the engine and hop-ups (which were important for my .21 conversion), it's a pretty good deal.

nice car. looks like you will need some new tires unless you want a nice drift car lol! i can't wait to see the end product. keep us updated.

Holy crap you are going to put a wasp 28?!! Does that mill rev high? what gearing are you going to put on it? What about suspension set up? How are you going to keep the wheels from chirping? I know you mentioned before that you found a conversion kit to allow the 28..am I wrong? regardless man that thing is going to light up!!! I can't wait tio see that thing run. Better show us a vid!! Again Very nice!!

The wolf pack radicals conversion kit will work with a .28, I hope...lol There maybe be some clearance issues. As for the engine, I think it revs to 42k rpm. For gearing, i'll go with the best top end I can fit. Wolf Pack says a 22 tooth pinion and 37 spur will fit with the 2 speed conversion. So i'll probably try that out. My goal is to hit 80mph. Assuming the engine will rev at what's it's rated at, it *should* be no problem achieving my goal.

I'll be running HPI Proceed shocks/springs. As for tires, i've got some HPI Foams sitting around that RatzoRC gave me for free. So i'll be using those.

I'm gonna start working on it sometime after New Years. I need to buy the screw kit and the chassis before work can begin. I really don't anticipate the car running until February, and it'll probably be much later before I have it completely finished.

What are the chances of me putting a few dollars in your pocket by buying that engine off of you?

Edit: nevermind, I took it apart and it's pretty thrashed. I had a bitch of a time getting the carb off. The carb and the block is pretty scarred from me removing the carb (but it was inevitable). Then again engine looks pretty sad to begin with. It's had to have had way too many gallons through it. I had to use a hammer to get the crankshaft off, and i found one of the bearings on it.

I'll probably clean up the carb and run it then just give it away. It's better than a stock engine

I plan on selling the O.S. 12 CV-R that came with the car. I just need time to clean the carb, inspect the internals and run it. If everything is good, i'll be selling it for $60. I can throw in the header and pipe also since those would be no use to me.

nice ride kwong... I've been thinking about geting an on road one of these days. When I do may be you can help me out.We can hook up so you can show me how to set up an on road ride....and I can show you some off road things... The meeting of the minds..

That'd be cool. Maybe someday i'll get my truckzilla up and running again...lol It's still in pieces. Perhaps we can have a bash then :)

Update, well since i pulled the engine out, I couldn't resist but to at least look at the two speed tranny. It became a bigger task cuz several countersunk screws on the chassis were stripped and I couldn't pull the gears off from the two speed. I managed to get it all off but it took the genius in me to do it. I'm definitely set on getting the screw kit. It seems like half the screws on the car are the wrong length. Only downside is that i'll have to buy some individual screws because the screws for the aluminum parts are a different size than stock.

Also, there's two countersunk screws on the chassis that are stripped that I can't get out. So i'll have to dremel it out and destroy the chassis.

I'm still happy with the car. I like something that's somewhat of a challenge. Restorations are fun anyways, especially when you'll have a finished product that's in a totally different league.

good luck with the ride, can't wait to see the vid of a 4 wheel burnout when you get it running. keep us informed on how the conversion goes. i have all ntc3's (3 of them) but i wanted to do an awd street race ride. the hpi looks like a good choice.

The two stock pulley's will eventually be robinson racing ones. The only parts that have a potential to get broken is the spur gear and belts.

I don't think they're V Rage. Is that the tire that comes with the nitro tc3? Anyhoo, it doesn't matter, i don't run rubber tires anymore.
