I am having problems getting my Maxx to start it was original a 2.5 but i put a 3.3 in there.. It was running fine last year but i let it sit and now i can't get her to fire up at all. Sometimes it will fire up but die very fast. I am wondering what could be the problem. What should i check for first? I know on my ez start wand the glow plug light is on. So my glow plug should be good still.

Drop a little fuel directly into the carb, with the air cleaner off. If it starts right up every time you do that, then you have a carb problem. Any time they sit for any length of time, the fuel residue gels and clogs the needle valve.

I tried that out, And i notice that it made my ez start not able to spin the motor. It was like locking up. I am wondering could my ez start not be turning the engine fast enough

You've probably run it down struggling to start it. Give it a full charge before trying it again.
You might also try cracking the seal on the glow plug to bleed off a little compression. As soon as it starts snug it back down.

I took my ez-start off to clean it out and i put everything back together.. Now i notice the motor on the Ez-start is not turning and it is just smokes when i try to use the ez-start to crank it up.

I think i am going to get rid of the bullshit ez-start and get a pull-start.. And see what happens...

But if i get a pull-start do i just need the pull-start or do i need to buy something extra

Your best bet is to get a tiger start and a glow plug ingniter. There is nothing more fustrating than trying to start an out of tuned nitro with a pull start. Also try a new glow plug. Good luck

Thanks, I order a Pull-start and I am going to go pick up a Glow Igniter tomorrow. I will let you guys know how things turn out.. Hopefully I get her started.

I Know a good doctor if you need shoulder surgery after trying to start it:hehe:. Just kidding , I have a pullstart on mine and when it's cold ....whew....what a workout. Good luck.

my ez start did the same thing, just smoked the motor. Took it back apart and noticed the spacer fell out during disassembly and the screw tightened down to far binding it it up. Iactually dont mind the ez start and not a full blown racer so not that concerned about the weight. Not big on the pull start cause u got to have the body off to pull it.

I got her started up, I bought a new pull-start and changed the plug and it fired rite up..

Now i just need to reseal the carb real good because i notice fuel is leaking from the carb.
