i go to start it and it seemes like the ez starter moter is spining but not makeing the engine start. it just spins by itself.

poop that happend to me this week as well its the one way bearing

don't just go out and drop 25 bucks on a new bearing, take it out and let it soak in Denatured alcohol for about an hour, take it out and blow it dry with canned air/air compressor, then after you do that use some Synthetic Motor oil (mobile1 5w/30) and put it back together and you should be ok

whats a one way bearing. sory for the dumb questions. I'm a nube to the rc world

The one way bearing is a bearing that grips in one direction. In this case it sits within the EZstart (or pullstart) and is slipped over the shaft that protrudes from the rear of the engine. Since it grips (or should grip) in one direction; when you try and start the engine it will turn the engine over until the combustion cycle takes over. At that point, the shafts speed will cause the OWB to release it's grip, at which point the OWB having done its job will act like any other bearing and just smoothly roll along.

What has probably happened is usually one of two things.
1. A build up of gunk is keeping the OWB from gripping. Which is why someone said that you need to clean it.
2. A crack in the case of the OWB is keeping it from gripping. You need to visually inspect it to confirm that this is not the case and if it is replace it.
