I have a Traxxas Revo 3.3, the carb has been set back to factory settings the glow plug is new and glowing it is getting fuel but it wont start i am out of my head on this one any ideas would be great Thanks for the help

Is it the ez-start? make sure all the wire connections are tight. How are you priming the engine? Are you sure you have a proper gap for the idle speed? If all that is good then run the low speed needle in a little at a time til it starts.

Yes its a ez-start, i check everything with a meter and all is good,so the meter sayes.idle speed is about the thickness of a credit card,i will try turning in the LSN, as far a priming i watched the fuel go from the tank to the carb other than that i have done nothing to prime it,Am i missing something? Thanks for the help

Are you saying put a couple drop of nitro fuel in the carb with the air cleaner off and try to start it?

If you do it that way, you'll know you don't have a glow issue. If it starts, it should start getting fuel from the carb. If not, you'll need to adjust your needles. Just don't run it without an air cleaner.

If you disconnect the hose from the tuned pipe and blow into it you can watch and hear the fuel hitting the carb. Once it gets there you blow for 1 second and it should be ready. Sometimes opening the throttle helps this, but stop blowing a split second after the fuel hits the carb. That's how I do it and my engines usually start right up. Also with easy start you can pinch the rubber stinger on the exhaust a little at a time while cranking the engine to get that last little shot of fuel where it needs to go without the worry of flooding. I hope that all makes sense and good luck.

Have you tried to start the engine using a stand alone glow ignitor ? it is a feature of the EZ start system that sometimes the GP lead does not work....

Another thought is to maybe try a new GP to see if that is the problem....

Just a couple ideas to look into

nothing has worked yet, i am going to check the ground again today, I think i will get a glow plug ign. this weekend. What can i do away with when i get the GP ign.(wireing).
Thanks everyone for the help:}

With a separate ignitor, you can get rid of the blue and yellow wires. Just need the red and black wires for powering the ez start motor.

Put a pull starter on with a seperate ignitor. I had the same problem and it turns out the ez start just didn't seem to have enough a$$ to spin the motor fast enough. It would spin and spin but not fire. Put a pull start on and it fired first pull. Even a bad motor should try to fire.

If your ez starter didn't spin fast enough to start the engine, there was a problem. Most likely the battery was weak or there was a bad connection between the battery and wand. The common tamyia plug problems. I've seen an ez start used on a red dot .26 for well over a year with no problems other than the glow plug warmer problems. That's what the separate ignitor will fix, which I think is the problem here.

some ezstart have problems ...my first one had a hard time cranking my engine ...even burnt a brush inside the motor .....turns out the problem was in the gears of the ezstart housing ....if i remember well , there is one gear in it that is made of metal ...it was hard to turn that gear on its shaft even with pliers ....i had to grind things a bit so that everything spins freely ...never had problems since

Well the same thing was happening to my 3.3. I bought a new motor and sent the problem motor to traxxas, and the new motor did the same thing. With fresh batteries. I even used the slow charger from traxxas with traxxas battery. I put a pull start on and it started right up. Pretty sure the ez start was the problem seeing how as soon as it was "eliminated" it started. It's cheaper than a motor which I replaced because I didn't believe it was the ez start either. Oh, think I asked on here before I bought the new motor... Just saying that a pull start is much cheaper than an ez start even. And if your truck is tuned right, a pull start is no problem. Good luck

Apologies. I can't find any post about my motor not starting. So I must not have asked on here.

I've posted this on a couple threads now but i had the same problem and it turned out to be the oring on the fuel tank had a slit in it so the back pressure from the exhust would build enough pressure in the fuel tank to prime the fuel properly its happend to mine like 3 times now in the last 6 months the other thing is I'm using a 4500 bat. in my ez start and that seems to help the cranking and glow plug issues

Heat gun

I have figured out that if you warm the engine up with a heat gun to about 115-120 degrees and hold your finger over the exhaust (while trying to start it) until you here the engine start to pick up, then it will fire right up. I did this in 35 degree weather and my revo fired right up. A hair dryer will work just as well if you do not have a heat gun.
