My Revo 3.3 is new. It is broken in but has never really been able to shift into second. I've adjusted the tranny to make it shift sooner to no avail. It has 12 tanks on it but will start to overheat it I don't shut it down. It screams at max. 50 000 RPM but won't shift. It did shift through break in but that is it. So, if it shifted through break in at factory settings shouldn't it shift after break in without adjusting the shift point? What should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:)

How well can you tune...??

I find when my Revo wont shift its always my tune...

You said it shifted during break in... Did you change the needle settings after break in..??

Won't shift into 2nd

I can tune pretty well. Come to think of it, I might be running a little to lean. I'm going to try from factory and work from there. I bet that is the problem. Thanks for your time.

I did adjust the needles after break in.

I did adjust the needle settings after break in but the tranny setting I kept the same from factory.

Most likely it's too lean. I'd start about a 1/4 turn shy of factory on the hsn and a 1/16th on the lsn. Factory settings on a broken in engine is only going to flood it and make it hard to keep running.

I thought it might be too lean. Thanks a million. The HSN is 4 turns from closed at factory. What is the LSN at factory default?

where i live , my tune is richer than the factory setting ...my HSN is at 5 turns out ...not sure about the LSN...all i know is that my engine likes it like that ....at 4 turns out , it over heats ...and at 5 turns out.. my temp stays around 280

and YES engine is sealed ( before someone asks ) ..lol

Wow! So you are actually running richer not leaner. I live in Edmonton so with our colder environment I probably need to run a richer setting. I have always tried to lean it instead of making it rich... Never thought to go the other way. I'll give it a shot and tell youguys what ends up working. Thanks:)

lol..well ..I'm in Quebec ;) ..so your tune might be similar to mine ;) .....this is my second 3.3 ...and the first one was tuned the same ..

must be the fresh Canadian air :D:hehe: ( more oxygen ) ..lol

Hell, I'd start with the hsn at 5 turns then, maybe 5 1/2. Then get the lsn where you like it, and do the pinch test. Or if it's smokin', running good and not over-heating, enjoy.:)

Thanks a million. I'll give it a try. Do you have any suggestions for the other post I put on line in regards to the tranny question?

are you sure its not shifting into 2nd ....maybe its shifting to early and you dont hear it shift .....i had that happen to me once ...just a thought

you need a good tune for it to shift right ...if your running lean , it will shift sooner ...rich = later shift......it all has to do with engine RPM.

get the tune right ..then play with your shift adjustment ....just be carefull not to unscrew the adjustment all the way ...or youll have to take the tranny appart ...good luck

keep at it ...youll get it running good ;)

Thanks a million. I'll get back to you to let you know how things went.

I live 10 minutes from Great Hobbies and Hobby Alley. I got mine at Great Hobbies for $539.99 plus 5% GST total $566.99CAN!!! Great Hobbies has two locations in Canada. One in Edmonton and one in P.E.I. I don't know if you've heard of Great Hobbies but they are one of the largest hobby stores in North America. They always have stuff in stock so I never have to order anything. If it isn't in stock they can order it in 5 to 7 business days.I've never had to order anything yet!! The store is huge. Hobby Alley is great as well with really good prices. F.Y.I. its www.greathobbies.com & www.hobbyalley.com. Hope this can help you out in some way down the line. Thanks again:)

No problem. Yeah, I know they have tons of stuff with excellent pricing. They will also price match any competitor and beat them by 5%(I think).
