Savage XL - Stays in First - Boggs of the line

:\Took my truck to the pros today and learned some lessons on tuning, as we were confined for space the truck was tuned in a small area not leaving 1st gear.

Took the truck to some wide open space and the truck now intermittenly more then not stays in 1st gear, play with the throttle and it will come out?

Could tuning of done this?

#2) The truck has now gone through 4 litres of fuel, been tuned and still has lag off the start - What could this be - Clutch?

There is an adjustment on the trans itself to adjust when it shifts. if the adjustment doesn't do anything, I'd take the top of the trans off and inspect the gear cluster. the second gear is the one on the forward most section (Smaller black gear) on the cluster.

Lag off the start could very well be a LSN tuning issue. Or steep gearing.

Check out your slipper pad on the back of your spur gear. If the spur was not tight enough, it was over slipping and glazed the pad over. If this is the case, use some ultrafine sandpaper to get a bit of grab on it.
