My Old Gf thought it was the dumbest thing and the biggest waste of time and money. She was always raggin on me to save my money for a rainy day.. On them rainy days, thats when I'm fixing what a broke the day before..lol.. Hense the EX girlfriend part..lol.. My parents think its totally cool, and my dad always has me pull out the trucks to show people that come over to visit.When I rip around in the yard, all the neighbors come over and watch, so its all good. My parents really would rather see my more into Flying than what I have been lately, but know I really enjoy this, so they are all for it.

I'm guessing your asking because your parents are accusing you of spending too much on RC's. you may not like it, but they are probibly right. they are trying to teach you how to manage your money, which is a valuable lesson. dont stop spending on RC's but maybe regulate it more closely.

well I set aside about 200 every 2 weeks for MY stuff....RCs guns Video/entertainment whatever.....but that comes out AFTER my bills/savings/expenses...plus having a 401 plan doesn't hurt either....if you're responsibilities are met then no one should have any reason to bitch....that's what I tell any woman in life that gives me crap about MY money......evn now I've been staying at home for a few months....I still take out what I would have spent on Bills and that goes into the bank first.....if someone is bitching about too much being spent then either you need to really look at your cash situation and curb it....or they themselves are feeling guilty about the money they spend.....which category do you fall into???

My last girlfriend hated my hobby. She complained all the time about how I was spending too much time on them. Ignoring things around the house. Blah blah blah.

My NEW girlfriend is sooo freaking cool with it that she's insisting that while we're looking for a house, it has to have a basement with a big enough workshop so I can wrench on my rides and have plenty of room to set up my paint equipment. She even grabbed the transmitter from me the last time I was running my Savage and did a few wheelies with it.

Here's the deal, both men and women have things they say one thing about, and the TRUTH is really something else. Some women will make all sorts of excuses as to why RC is stupid - it's costing too much money, grow up, bla bla bla . . . but most of the time, at the heart of this is one thing:

If it's not about ME, it SUCKS!

I know far too many women like this, and pity the foo's who wind up marrying them.

My wife and I work together all day every day and have for years. Its not uncommon for her to say "Go out to the shop and do what ever you do out there." I'm not sure if thats good or bad but I'm not complaining.

She has her spare time activities and I have mine. IMO if the other in your life doesn't understand it make you happy then you have decisions to make.

If you have extra money to spend, and the key word is extra, then so be it.

Not about the cost because she has no idea. Just the hobby in general.
I get the comments when my friends come over to get me for racing.
I'll get the old "Honey, your girlfriends are here", or "OK kids, now play nice and be home for dinner".
