Last time I took the tmaxx out for a session it looked like the front wheels were a little wobbly. It was still going straight though. I checked the nuts and they were snug. Is this normal?

I didn't think about that. Just another thing to put on my list of things to buy...I do notice that when I turn the wheels left and right the play looks like it is in the driveshaft going to the wheel from the diff. As it moves with the wheel. Still just the bearings?
 
The shaft is moving bc the bearings arent doing what they are supposed to. The bearings support the axle going thru your carriers and when they start to break down it creates play which isnt much until u put a wheel on it and wobble it back and forth if both bearings are bad be sure to replace both not just one or the one bearing will last no time
 
+1 regarding the bearings,I would get extras ,trx wheel bearings are famous for this,maybe get some from FastEddy!

Depending on how bad the wobble is, it could just be a deformed rim. Try switching out the wobbling wheel with one that spins true. If the new tire still wobbles its the bearings, if it doesn't it's the rim.
 
Also take the wheels off,then grab ahold of the axle stub with your fingers and rock it back and forth/up and down that alone will tell you how bad the bearings are,it should have no movement with good bearings.

Unless your looking for reduced friction bearings for speed, I recommend a rubber sealed bearing over the metal shielded for wheel bearings or any bearing exposed to dirt/debris.
 
They already shipped out the bearings I ordered last night. I guess I'll use those until they go bad and buy the rubber sealed ones. Thanks everyone for the help!

Just took a tire off to do what Mudslinger said to try. Turns out those big hexes on the axle carrier (holding some kind of ball?) were just loose. How tight should they be? Still going to replace the bearings with the fast eddy bearings because I'm sure the ones on there are junk by now anyways.

I cannot tighten the hexes down or it will bind up my steering. Whats the trick to getting those hexes tight enough? Do I just watch for play with the axle carrier and ball?

Ok, thanks! I'll do the same. But I figure it can wait because I'm going to have to take them back off to get that 2nd bearing on the axle carriers. All I do is undo those 2 hexes and pull the axle carrier off right?

On a completely unrelated note, where is the "Thanks" button?
 
after you take the hex out you will then have to take the pivot ball out on top and bottom to remove the carrier. generally when putting the pivot balls back in once you have replaced what you need to just screw the top all the way in and the bottom will be out a little bit be sure to have the angle of the wheel right b4 you put the hex back in
