I got a friend who will make me a really good deal on a servo but not sure if it will work for a single convertion or not. The part number is HS 5955PG. It's some sort of digital servo he got by mistake on one of his planes and supposed to be programable.

Thanks
Ray

its probably the HS 5955TG, and yes, its a GREAT servo for a single steering setup. Around 300+oz of torque. Its a digital servo, which means lighter weight as well. Get it, they're awesome.

Hey thanks :hi:

I'm trying to double check the part number as I type to make sure that is the one you mentioned. If so, I'll pick it up for the Revo. Now I just need to look into what else I need to do for a single servo set up.

Thanks again
Ray.

Ok I got off the phone with my friend and it's a HS-5955TG. If this will work and work well...I can get it less than half of retail. My only real concern at this moment now, is will I need to program this servo for my truck or will it come with a stock pre-set settings? The reason I wonder/ask is I'm not willing to invest in any programmer.

damn, get me one for less than half of retail!!!!

its pretty much the best you can get for a single servo setup...including the 94358z which GGASMAN mentioned. Its a Hitec, giving it the edge on most other brands. Definitely get it, and youll be very happy with its performance!

Hey Ray that's a good deal. I was wondering if you meant TG instead of PG. The TG is for Titanium Gear. Anyway, at that price jump on it. It's a lot of power, more than you need actually but why the hell not. I don't think you'll have to do any programming with it, it should just go lock to lock (about 60 degrees).

Sounds good!

The deal is my friend bought a plane that came with the servo which is way more than what any of his planes needs. Since he is strickly planes, he mentioned it to me and will sell it to me at a good price because he didn't pay full price for it him self. Also it's a TG instead of a PG...my mistake, sorry about that.

So what else do I need to do to do a single servo swap?

Thanks again
Ray

nothing, just take out the 2 servos, choose which side you want to put the servo in, and do it...also, using a longer servo arm (probably included with the servo) will give you more steering. You should also do the steve slayden steering mods, you can find them on traxxas' site under pit pass..i think its one of the revo setup guides...it makes a HUGE difference..

also, you can go buy the proline single servo aluminum arm...since you have no need for the 2 sided arm thats on the truck..

Ray, I highly recommend the Proline single servo arm and also the heavy duty servo saver. You'll come in under $20 for the two. Do the steering mods that are "freebies" and you'll be good to go. I'll say this, if you plan to, at any point in the near future, get the tekno rx box and mount larger tanks, put the servo on the left side (engine side).

Hey thakns ppls :hi:

I've got an order pending on tower to get the things needed to install this servo. Now I just have to figure out what I need to install this dang MX3 I bought today :ponder2: The receiver it came with uses a different connector. I found some adaptors on tower but not sure if they work or if that is the best thing to do. If anyone has tips on that, I would love to hear them instead of making a new thread over it.

Thanks again

What connectors are different? Can you post a pic?

I'm unable to post picts ATM. The Revo connectors want plug into the MX3 receiver. They seem to be a little big...wondering if I would shave them down a tad bit to fit :ponder2:
