will this gas work?

a friend of mine had some methanol alcholol and gave me some to try in my t-maxx, its a clear liquid so it dosent have any lubricant in it so he also gave me something called upper lube & lead additive. will this be alright in my truck?

my advice, unless it says on the container, for radio controll vehicles or somthing of that matter, i wouldnt use it. But that is just me. What was he using it in? An r/c?

If you don't mind experimenting with your engine, while possibly ruining it at the same time, give it a whirl. If you do mind, stick with fuels that are made for R/C engines.

its supposively 112% methyl alcholol so i would have to add nitro to it, if i could find it. and i was going to try it on my stock 2.5 engine not my 24.7

I think the time you would invest looking for pure nitromethane and mixing it with the ethyl alcohol and lubricants in appropriate quantities would be better spent buying some O'Donnell.

Unless he gave you several gallons of it.

you could build a tee-pee with a smoker in the middle of it, dump all that methyl over a bunch of twigs and leaves, light a match and breath deep about how you're glad you didn't use it in your r/c engine. but now that doesn't matter a bit because you're probably dead. damn, guess you should have tried it afterall.

I definitaly would not use it in your engine. the odds of it workin without harming your engine arevey slim

i find it amusing when people want to mix their own fuel. i read on some thread that a bunch of hobby shops in the UK mix their on fuel. in a seperate thread, i read that a lot of the fuel people buy in UK isn't conistant and is a nightmare to use. the only reason why they make their own is because it's expensive to import the good stuff. where do they get the "good stuff"? you got it. right here in the US. the same is true in austrailia.

the best fuel you can run in your RC is the stuff you buy at your LHS. the mixing of natual and synthetic lubes and years of research -- that stuff can be duplicated in your kitchen.

i know this thread is done, but, for future reference, don't try it. it won't work out.
