Ummm. Why don't you get the Picco 21 drop in? Those engines you are looking at look like they are made for the Old TRX PRO 15 enginel. IIMO I say they will fit but Why not just get the Picco 21? Under a 200 bux.

Yeah, those won't bolt right in. Unless they are including a flywheel nut as well with the engine, you will need one of those. And you will also need rotary carb linkage instead of slide carb linkage like the 2.5 maxx has.

This isn't a bad little engine Orion Wasp 18 if your trying to get by cheaply.

It will require a clutch adapter nut though.

Running anything more powerful than a 18 on a 2wd maxx is kind of pointless. The power will never make it to the ground. Fun, yes, for awhile... then it just gets annoying. I had a 21 maxx with a full 21 conversion that I set up as 2wd. It was fun, but it was really squirrelly, it never hooked up regardless of the surface or tires. I was using a relatively dead OS 21 RG. It had 5 tanks run through it with minimal compression.

EDIT: I had meant to say 5 gallons, not tanks...

Olds is right about the squirelliness (is that a word?)...my money is on the O.S. 18. I tried the picco and it was great....when it ran.....had all kinds of airleak issues..the slide on the carb warps very easy and creates huge leaks...not stable temps...but it has a ridiculous powerband all the way up.....funny to watch people try it at first.....but I'm stickin w/ O.S. and fantom engines for now anyway...
