Will Fuel Tubing melt going to carbuerator? Touching engine head.

Ok, I will watch for wearing of the tubing. I think I am going to buy some more tubing and run it around the other side of the air filter, instead of between the engine and air filter.

Depending on the vehicle in question, make certain to not make the lines too long. This will end up creating a leaning condition on the engine and could give you problems down the road.

o sorry. I dont know why i said that. I am going to make my pipe to tank line at least 6 inches though. I heard that helps a bit. I will keep my carb line the same as it is now.

The length of both pressure line and fuel feed line determine how the fuel will flow to the engine and in the end can impact the tuning of the engine. There are more stories than I can count about guys banging their heads against the wall trying to figure out why their engine is so finicky to tune...the end result was either too much or too little fuel line in either location or collectively.

but if i currently have about 2-3 inches of fuel line, 6 inches of fuel line shouldnt make much of a diff, should it?

Every inch can make a difference. You might be surprised.

ok, thanks a lot for all of the information SkyMaxx... it is greatly appreciated.

No worries. I might suggest an attempt at using the search function of the site. Most of the questions you have asked or attempted to answer for many...have already been asked and answered in the past. In fact, we have quite the plethora of information available to he who uses the search function. If you still can't find an answer, then by all means ask in a separate thread.

sorry to bring this thread back but i was racing today and all a sudden my truck stop so i stopped and inspected it checked the temp its running 235 as usual and i looked at the line and it had a big melted hole in the side of it i didnt know what happend it was the same fuel line i always use so just saying i gues keep an eye out for it

no i had it wrap around by the cooling head it wasn't near the flywheel but anyway i replaced it and got back racing

yea, I have heard of a lot of people wrapping it around the head. I would do that, but I have also heard of a lot of peoples tubing melting.
