RC Driving Style
The stock GT1 tires have been on my Savage for about 7 gallons now and they are starting to look at least 1/2 worn. My driving is about 70% street and 30% dirt. I am considering New Q6 rims with the Dirt Bonz tires.

Can the Dirt Bonz be used on pavement? I would tend to think yes because they come with the new 4.6 Kit and the 25 LE RTR. My stock tires have lasted for a very long time (and still have life left) and I am wondering how long the Dirt Bonz will last with my style of driving. My stock tires still hook up pretty good at dirt tracks.

i wouldnt thing so. save your money and get some road rage tires from proline if your street driver big joes are nice all around tire. i have them myself and some bow ties for track. i live in dirt all around so i dont know how well dirt bonz would hold. i had some that came with my k46 and sold them cause i knew the bonz on them would wear quickly. get some tires with bite. or some street tires.

Ross those tires won't last on pavement too long. The pins will just get eaten up . You'll have racing slicks in no time.

lets use some common sense....... :hammer:

Has anyone actually tried them or am I just gonna get wise ass replies like this gem? I have people over at SavageRacer posting that they have 4 street gallons on the Bonz and they still look good.

Any type of mini pins or pins will NOT stand up to pavement long. Even in electrics they wear pretty fast. If you know youare going to be running on the pavement then a set of street tires would fare better. OR you can use some Chevron type tires as they seem to last longer on street.

I never installed the Dirt Bonz on my stock 4.6 Savage. I went with a set of Associated MGT wheels and tires. Here is a link to a picture of it with these tires.:

I knew the Dirt Bonz wouldn't last on pavement or gravel very long. And honestly, I like this look better. FYI. I had a set of "fuzzies" (tiny pin spike tires)on my Nitro Evader BX and they wuzn't fuzzy for long after 3 tanks on asphalt.
I picked up this set of 4 with wheels off of ebay for around $30 plus shipping (NIB).

I tried some Mulchers on street and they got mulched. The stockers are still looking meaty and they are used!

I'm now considering the Q6/Bonz for my track days and swapping back my stockers for the street.

Good choice, the dirt bonz suck on the street, I swapped them out for my zombie maxxes because they wouldn't hook up. On the track however they rock, very similar traction to bow ties. I would not keep the stock foams though, too soft and allow a lot of sidewall flex.

4 gallons on street 70% street driving? Pick up something cheap (Like Tmaxx wheels/tires to use on the street) and save them BONZ for dirt.

I never ran my BONZ , my Mulchers, my 40 bow's, and regular bow's.....on the street

ImBroken ran them at the HPI Challenge here in Florida. 3 days of hard driving on a prepped on road track (unfortunately they did not set up a dirt track here) and suprisingly they showed no noticable wear. I was pretty surprised myself. He did however have the Racers Edge low roll foams in them.
