I was reading in Rc car action today about pros and cons about Rc's when I came across the cons of truggies, One of the cons was Nitro's only..which I havnt thought of before and questioned why?.. Why isnt there any Electric truggies? Seems kinda weird since theres electric MT's and Electric ST's and buggies.. Anyone know? Any reasons why not?

In general, truggies are based upon 1/8 buggy platforms. How many electric 1/8 buggies are there? I think that's the most obvious reason.

Yeah, I can see that. But I figured the Electric ST scene seems to be pretty decent, so was wondering why they havnt went to the truggy scene with it yet.

ST's are 2WD. The 1/10 electric 4wd buggies would be a good platform. Smaller class but still fun.

You could make a 1/8 electric truggy...just have to swap out the engine for a motor and the throttle servo for a speed control...

Elcetric Mt's are pretty big though. There was alot of money in the Emaxx, and being truggies are the next big thing I thought they would have come up with a stock one.

Spit I dont have a truggy, I was just more or less curious why not a electric one. I'm a nitro man..lol

All listed above, and Truggies are race RC's for the MOST part. ROAR rules state that the MT/unlimited class be nitro ONLY.

I like nitro in the MT or truggy class. Electric may become a contender with Li-poly technology, and all I can think of right now, is that my feet stink.

Electric truggy would be sweet, and when i take my boots off them smelly things go straight outside.

You smell your feet?

When I take off my boots, you have no choice.
Everyone in my house can smell my feet from a distance.

Sorry about the derail Andy.
Back on track!!!

I have seen an attempt on a RC10T3 with a Mamba brushless and some bigger tires but it just couldn't see to be on par with the Nitro Truggies out on scene. It was actually cool to see but the truggies around were out performing it.

Awhile back, there was a guy selling electric motor mounts to convert an 1/8th scale buggy. It caught my eye, as they made the first ones for the MBX5. I can't seem to find it anymore. Looked like a fun custom mod..

I saw a video of a guy who made a brushless electric buggy out of an 1/8 scale nitro.
I don't remember the make, but the buggy hauled ass.

There was a project by a bunch here in the UK to make a Brushless 8th scale buggy.
They used the GS buggy and used a large brushless motor. The chassis was full of cells. The video showed it tearing along a green field and it was far from slow. The runtimes were quite respectable too.
If I recall they said the downside was the weight - due to them using NiCd cells. If I recall correctly they called it the RexZilla project...
