why does my buggy only idles when the brakes are on??

You probably don't have enough preload on the spring on your carb linkage that keeps the throttle closed. There should be a way to compress that spring a little bit so that it keeps the carb barrel seated as closed as possible (your idle setting) when your throttle is at neutral.
 
Or your throttle trim on the transmitter may be too advanced. There should be no movement in the carb barrel between neutral throttle and full brake. The only movement should be in the brakes...
 
check your linkage , your idle setting , and your radio settings

Also check your fuel line for pin hole leaks.

No, that's not what I was saying. If you are going to attempt to use Lamans terms to describe others peoples posts it would be a good idea if you actually understood what they were talking about to begin with.
 
yeh i have the same problem right now but i dont wat to touch the idle screw bcause i know something will go wrong
