Well,

I was over @ radioshack today to get a video cable and I ended up with a video cable and a Yellow Nissan Skline Xmods (like I was gonna pic the gay honda civic bodies..lol).

I'll let you guys know what I think about it when I get it running. For $50.00 I'm sure it's gonna be a sweet little RC and the engine upgrades are cheap ($15.00 for 4 engines with plastic gears).

They're pretty nice little cars, for what you pay. I'm not thrilled with the feel of the controller, or the lack of a hard steering trim, but other than that, they're not bad. Lot of fun, too.

hey me and my bro have one and we love them espcaily with a stage 2 motors his gets around 20 in the house, there also fun to drift with. If you get one though make sure u get the rechargeable batts

I got tired of having to adjust the steering trim after every run. They're fast enough but the steering just bugs me.

Thanks guys,

It was a serious complusive buy but I think I'll have fun with it for the money. If not I can always sell it on fleabay. It looks like it's gonna be a pain the arse to change the engines out but I'm use to working on micros.

As for batteries. You get 8 cells and a charger for $24.99 @ RadioSHack for the "Xmods" batteries. That's actually pretty pricey. I've got lots of 1.2vNIMH from my old digi-cams. You'd have to be an idiot to keep using dry cell aa's.

You will have fun with it for the money, I drove mine all the time before I got my drifter.

Thanks Captain sarcasm (LOL). That's exactly the info that I needed. I wanna make it fast as possible and I'm sure I'll end up getting the AWD module. If I get bored with it, I can always drive it off my house.:wtf:

Been thinkig of getting one myself. Poor man's mini-z.

I'll be driving it on a carpet track tomorrow when I get out of the office. SO far I can't stand the cheesy plastic wheels hexs and the wheels seem to wobble way to much. My buddy that bought one said "it drifted with the best of them after some mods". I think RadioShack has a quality rc on their hands.

I bet this thing would be really fast if you could mod it for a lexan micro body as the body is HEAVY compared to the weight of the car. Just a thought.

Yeah man, you're right about the body. The car is WAAYYYY faster without the body on it. I'm telling your though, the spinbrush motor friggin SCREAMS in that thing.

Without the AWD it'll just spin around all day long, but with the AWD it's very controllable. Drifting is great on laminate flooring. You can sling it around and controll it perfectly!

For the money, the XMod is a great deal.

Yea they are nice cars, a guy i know made a custom carbon fiber chassie for it, it looks sweet

Hey Gil, I read the entire thread you posted a link to but I'm still confused about the "sping brush" motor mod? ARe you talking about the stage 11 with 6-cell upgrade here? http://www.xmodworld.com/modules.php?name=Store&func=ShowCategory&category=2 That sounds sweet and I bet these little things haul ass with a fast wound motor and 2 more cells. I got the Xmods battery pack and for $24.99 it's a pretty sweet deal for a charger and 8 NIMH cells like you pointed out. I could give a crap about gay stickers and body kits but I want this little thing to handle like a dream and be as fast as possible. It'll still be cheaper then the cheapest hobby grade 1/18th car on the market.

Mixmasta - I was just thinking last night that it would be sweet if you could replace some of the plastic chassis pieces with custom carbon fiber or graphite!

i have one i have the the black nissan skyline there awsome, get the stage three motor it adds alot more speed

There is about 6 of us that have one, and my buddy built a track in his basement with 1/2 inch conduit. They are fun, but mostly it's something to do in the winter for me. Also a plus that the track never closes. I have the white Supra with all the upgrades.
