Who makes the receiver box that comes with the S-25 RTR? Is is possible to get another receiver box and use the S-25 RTR radio with a second vehicle (like an RS4 SS kit)?

Is trying this even worth the trouble, I know you can get a decent Tower Hobbies 2-ch AM radio for around $45.

Rossb mcvickj is completely correct here. The stocker stuff is made by futaba. You can just get a Receiver that matches the 27mhz am frequency to put in your SS and get servos to boot or for about the same price or a little less you can just get a whole new radio system that comes with everything. I personally just got a new radio system everytime. Later.

Thanks for the replies. The receiver is about $30 at Tower Hobbies, plus another $6 for the crystals and another $20 for two standard servos. The total would be over $50.

It would be cheaper to just get a 2-ch AM Futaba radio from Tower for $45 with 2 included standard servos. I am also considering the RS4 RTR EVO since it comes with a bigger motor, an Airtronics made radio, and it is only about $50 more than the RS4 SS Kit. I was also thinking about trying that new HPI 18ss motor.

i dont mean to discourage you form hpi becvsause they are a good quality but the engines from hpi are nothng like somehting made form O.S. or FantoM

That 18 CVRX would be bad ass. You also might think about the fantom FR 15. It's a bad ass motor.

that .18 would be ok as it is a direct drop in and also at tower form now till june 30th you get $10 off at tower but a stormer hobbies they have fantoms for a lil bit more .

The exhaust mounting, motor mount, and crank length for the .18 CV-RX will be the same as the stock HPI .15?

If this also true with the Fantom? I still haven't seen any specs on this new OS .18 Is the Fantom supposed to be a more powerful motor than the OS .18?

What about the Epic .18? This motor is rated 1.8HP, 39,000 RPM

The Fantom is 1.25HP, 42,500 RPM

rossb excuse my last post i may have thrown you off I'm refering to the hpi .18

I am not sure but I think this thread needs to be moved at this point as we are talking about cars about this point. The Fantom FR15 i honestly more suited to a car than any 18 motor. I would stick with a 12-15 motor at this point rather something that big in an RS4 you will have to dump tons of money into the car to make it handle properly in order to handle the power as well.
