OK I have decided to come to the savage clan.
I will be getting a savage in about a month and I dont know which one I should get the .25 or the .21 I have enough to get the .25 but if the only diff is the engine size I will get a .21.It will be the RTR so are their any other diffs and which is better.

P.S. I am not interested in the new savage the 4.6 I think well any way dont suggest that unless u want to fork over the cash to make up the diff.
Thanks

Get the SS 4.6. :)

Seriously, I think you will be glad you got .25 and not the .21 later on. Never ran the .21BB but I hear the .25 is much better. The .25 RTR comes with a 3-Shoe clutch, primerless fuel tank (a good thing, cures self leaning problem), and stiffer srings for the suspension.

Honestly (and this is coming from someone in the same boat) I think it would be a wiser investment to get the 4.6. I've been shopping out a Savage for a while and I have seen some of the weaknesses and mods that other Savage owners have been doing. And it just seems to make more sense to invest in the 4.6. Yes, you get a bigger engine, and we all love that. Plus it comes with all the other mods already done. Including dual disc brakes and the 4 spider mod. In the long run, it's cheaper to buy the 4.6 than to buy the .25 and do the mods.

I would get the 25 If I was in your shoes, The .25 is a better motor is has more power and way easyer to tune. Since the 21 is not being made you should be able to get a deal on it. I remember that my hobby shop was selling the 21s for $330 when the savage 25 came out

If you plan on running your savage alot you might want to wait and get what you really want. So you dont have to buy two cars. If you have the money I would look at the 4.6 and a cheap radio

Ok guys fork over the cash.I will look in to getting a 4.6 how does it come ,is it RTR how much is it

Nope it not rtr.. But all you will need is raido gear and servos..

I does come with the new .28 a tuned pipe motor saver filter 4 spider mod cam type servo saver duel disk breaks and a few extras..
I just got done bulding mine this weekend..

And I don't see one freaking picture.

Tarant, you will have to get radio gear for it. At least a 2 channel set with Tx, Rx, 2 servos and batteries. How much you want to spend on that is up to you. I just think that if you go with the SS .25, you'll enjoy it, but may end up eventually putting some cash into it to shore up a few minor weak points...

Ummmm....oops....
Sorry, I fell off the short bus on my way home from work today.....

LOL here is one naked OH ya and next week there will be a miss BUD behind it .
Iam going to send a pic of it to NCNITRO so he can frame it and put on his wall :smoke:

Get the .25 because it is RTR and at Towers its only $379.00 ($30.00 rebate this month). You will need extra plugs, fuel, ignitor, temp gauge and all in one wrench. By the time your done it will run$475.00. The .28 or 4.6cc Savage is $429.00 and by the time you get electronics which will run $150.00 for one great steering servo, controller, receiver and second servo plus starter kit you will be at $600.00. Get the RTR.
The spider mod is less than $20.00 and it's not needed until later. Look at it this way, when you started driving you didn't buy a Porsche you bought something to learn with. You can always upgrade later. It's best to just start this hobby slow and work your way from there. It's great to be excited about this hobby but sometimes it's best not to go to go too far so soon. Don't go broke buying your first ride, you will need extra cash down the road.

Yeah, I agree w/ Scott here. If you only have cash for the trucks you listed get the 25 RTR. We all can't buy the most expensive kits, right? (I'm in that boat :) ) The S25 engine runs great and holds a tune well. I had one in my SS and now it will see duty in my Lightning 2 Pro.

Good luck. The Savage is an awesome MT. :D

You know I bought a used savage .21 used already broken in that was hrmm almost 2 years ago maybe?.. I'm not sure..
anyways about 7 gallons of fuel later and a severe beating sometimes for days on end, it still holds a tune, still has penty of power and nothing has broke besideds a upright because I hit a curb.

If you've had a maxx, Any savage you go with will make you freak.. nothing comapred to the maxx, in both tuneability and durability. So much more tprue in a Big blck you don;t have to run 'em lean

MY advice, pick what you can afford a savage is a savage,

Well it is not my first RC I have a maxx with a bunch of upgrades I am going to trade it in to Bruce at Rush RC (I hope it is a good Idea) and with that I will put towards my savage
ok I will get a .25 but one q
what is the starting system is it a pull start or a roto start and if it is a roto I will need a 7.2 batt right

I wants one!!!!!!
Can't afford another rc car for a bit, so I'm just sitting here with drool running all down my chin.... Everything I've got is broke. Got mud and Savage scattered all over the dining room table waiting for parts. (Ol' Lady can't cook anyway)
Blew out the rear diff in the Savage, radio in my buggy, and seems like the little Mini t is broke everytime I pick it up. Got enough parts coming to fix them all. I hope..... Got some paint and decals coming for a Savage body I have had. If it turns out decent I'll post it.

Tarant, just come over to the "Savage clan." I have the .25 RTR. It'll take about $100 to put the extras that they are including in the kit? + a .28 engine. I love mine. Get any of them. Hop em up to suit your needs and.... drive it like ya stole it!!! Good Luck!

cool I have one from my EZ start. The only other thing is a ignitor right I have tools oils plugs and things like that

get a couple as those things kill the ez start or the rotostart. I recommend getting the pullstart when you are ready or maybe just use a drill. I have seen the Rotostart button fail too many times.
