Which One Is Better?

I'm looking into buying a savage and now I must decide between two. Which one is better the Savage X RTR or the Savage X SS 4.6 Kit?

If it was my money, I'd go with the SS kit. You can choose your own electronics, and building the kit will help you learn how to fix the truck should it ever break. Building is also half the fun of this hobby.

Spazz, personally I was going to go with the SS kit, but since I got a great deal on the 25 (with many hop-ups) I couldn't say no. Guess I'll have a play stripping it down and familiarise my self with it...but having browsed through the online-manual, doesn't seem like a huge issue tbh.

I have both and have since upgraded the the 4.6 to a X.
There isn't very much difference with performance IMO, but the ease of changing the diffs and the radio box make the X a better buy IMO.

If you buy the X. mess around with it for a wile then just buy a 4.6 engine off of Ebay, then you have a X ss - dirt bonz tires.

Also even if you buy a RTR you should atleast tear it down partialy to check all screw's and gear mesh ect.

I think Spazz is comparing the new Savage X SS to the RTR X. If it's between the older version SS and the new RTR X, then I'd go with the RTR X and tear it down like Clintd suggested. You can sell the electronics and get some better gear in there.

yea, I went on Tower Hobbies and typed "Savage X" and it gave me the Savage X RTR and the Savage X SS Kit.
