Hi everyone my brother is looking to buy a micro electric on-road car mainly for drifting he has been looking at the micro RS4 and xmods. He is willing to spend around £100 including some upgrades for the xmods. Any other recommendations or opinions appreciated? Thanks.

I think the M18 is a great 1/18 scale car for any type of driving. I have one, just wish I could use it more.

Just a head's up. As far as I know, X-mods are discontinued here in the states. I don't know what kind of product support still lingers for them, but I know it's hard to find parts around here...

Pardon my shameless plug but if he's willing to spend a little more I have a very badass Xray M18 for sale. It's EXTREMELY hopped up with A LOT of extra parts for tuning. All it would need is a radio and I would be willing to throw in an AM transmitter if he's interested. I'm trying to unload this car for $320 (about 162 GBP) but I can work "a little" since shipping may be rather pricey.

at any rate, I would suggest this type of car anyways. I think the M18 is the best 1/18 on-road available

Xray M18

Ok then I haven't heard much about the M18 is there very good after market support for spares / upgrades?

Yes, and his car has everything you could ever want done to one. It's a great deal.

If you go 1/28th, get a mini-z instead of an XMod.

Just so you're not confused Rascal.. he's referring to the M18 that I have for sale. I mentioned it in my previous post but I had forgotten that marauder had expressed interest a while back when I was trying to sell it. That was before I thought I was going to keep it. But I have no need for it so it needs to go. It's a bit pricier than 100 pounds but it's heavily modded and has a lot of spare/tuning parts to go with it.

Damn thats a nice car!

Yeah nice work on your M18 but as this is his first proper RC car I don't think he will be willing to spend that much as he knows he's gonna crash alot.:marshall:

Why is the mini z better than the xmods except the fact they may have been discontinued.

I say go with the micro rs4 if you're looking at 1/18th. As much as I love the RC18 series, the RC18R just looks goofy and ill proportioned, probably wouldn't drift well for a beginner.

Otherwise, if smaller I say go with robmob's suggestion of the Mini Z in 1/28th.

OK I'll tell him about the mini z and HPI Micro RS4 but he did see the RC18r and he thought they looked abit strange. Thanks.
