okay, my old traxxas high torque servo bit the bullet, so I'm gonna get a new one, but i wanna get a good new one. i have no idea about whats good/bad/right/wrong in the electronic portion of this hobby. (just slap a failsafe on and your good to go!!:cheerful: ) but now I'm lookin for something with some torque, those t-maxx tires are big!!

BTW i gotta keep the price under 40$.
also, has anybody tried the proline steering kit?

happy maxxin

I'm with Alien on this one. For that price the Hiteck 645mg servo will do you just fine. I have been running one on my maxx for nearly two years with no problem at all. I did replace the sytock servo saver with a Kimbrough though, (another $6). Go to Servo City , $40 and no shipping.

For $60 you can get the HiTec HS-5645MG digital high torque servo. This thing generates 160 oz-in of torque. It will turn the wheels at a standstill on the ground in just about any terrain. I use them for steering duty in all my RCs (two MTs and a Buggy). The Kimbrough servo saver is a must or you could go with the ProLine steering kit with built in servo saver.

hitec

Another vote for the Hitec here, I've got one taking care of the steering;) Also you could put the Traxxas 2055 servo on the throttle/brake, would provide that little bit of extra torque for harder breaking?

I installed the Proline kit and am very happy with it. You are able to ditch the crap stock servo saver since the proline kit has one built in. IMO it is a must have upgrade for the Maxx. The stock steering set-up is crap.

I also put in an airtronics 94358Z servo which generates 200oz torque. No more deflections while in the turns.
