I am trying to find out which glow plug is recommended or works best with the Savage SS's engine, but it doesn't say anywhere. I'd like to get a couple extras but I can't find out which kind to get. Any suggestions?

Matt

mattf - i would strongly recommend the OS A8 plug for all big block engines. it should work just fine for you. if u are in a very cold climate, u can also use the OS A3

Actually, I'm in Minnesota and winter is coming up, so maybe an A3.

The 21BB and S-25 use the same plug, use a medium-cold plug like a McCoy MC-8 or an O.S. A5.

Note: You can't use a "turbo" plug in the 21BB or S-25, they both require standard plugs.

That is what HPI says

I too, was wondering about the best plug for a big block. I think I made a good choice.

Hey, NA? I hate to pick your numbers apart. Does OS make a #8 and an A-8? I bought a couple of these:

I also picked up a couple of O'Donnell #77 plugs. These are significantly longer than the #8's. I'm breaking in my engine on one of the O'Donnell plugs.

I was surprised at the dimensional differences between these plugs.

You have visual proof in front of you of the difference between a long plug (the O'Donnell) and a standard or short plug (the OS).

I have found that the long plugs work much better in my big blocks, but that is just my own experience.

david hicks - no, they dont make an A8, my typo, i ment the #8. sorry.
