RC Driving Style
Hi, This is my first post so here goes. I have a tmaxx 25 that started its like as a 15. I got the new chassy, engine, clutch, carb, plus what ever else fastens to the engine, linkage for the new style carb and exhaust. All are stock parts on the engine and the resy off the truck apart from some alloy skid plates and grey shockers and rear bulk head after a nasty accident where a tree jumped into my path.

Now i have three different exhausts the trx 15 stock black plastic exhaust and the blue alloy tunned pipe. But i am using the stock 2.5 plastic exhaust. Am i doing the right thing? If not which one would you guys suggest i use. Its a long time since i tried but from what i can remember i need to perform some kind of mod if i want to use the tunned pipe on the new engine.(newish and well scarred but in perfect working order).
It s the standard 2.5 noth the 2.5r. Oh yes just what is the difference between the 2.

I have lots more questions but will leave it at this for now.
Cheers

TRX .25 exhaust

My engine should be run in by now I'm starting on my 3rd half gallon of fuel this weekend. I have had lots of problems since i installed the engine but most of which where just lack knowledge about nitro engines. Now i have had a fiddle and learned a bit more i have it running perfectly.Decided to loose the easy start and install a pull start and it runs great now. Its not as fast as i would like but was told that my first gallon or 2 of fuel should be no more than 16%. This was taking into account that after this i shall be running it on 20%.

Is this brocken in enough to be thinking about changing the exhaust on it. Should i up my fuel before changing exhaust. I know i have to do a secong running in session (Borring) when i up my fuel.

Cheers Guys.

Go to 20%. If you can get Traxxas Top Fuel, get that. Traxxas engines really love Traxxas fuel. I learned that the tried and true way.
When you go to 20, you only need to take it easy for a few tanks while you retune. You don't need to go through a complete break in.
After it's running good on 20%, THEN change the pipe. You'll need to retune again.
When doing any kind of changes on these things, only do one at a time, and when it's right, then go to the next. If you do 2 or more changes, you'll never know what's causing the problem while you're fighting to make it run.

Traxxas top fuel

Hi, I live in england and traxxas top fuel here is like rocking horse poop:puke:. It isnt available anywhere. Top fuel, Duroglow are about the most popular in my part of england at least. Glow fuel in genral is very expensive in england with a half gallon of 20% averaging £20.00 around about $35.00 (us). I dont know how this compares to your prices but would be interested to find out.

So once i have stepped up the fuel. Which of the 2 other pipes would be worth trying. I am only asking in case this is something people have already tried. Who knows you may say dont bother there both rubbish for that engine saving me a lot of time.

Cheers

Paul

The Traxxas fuel was only a suggestion. If it's not available, go with what your LHS carries. Stay with the popular brand.
Fuel here is 20 to 25 U.S. dollars a gallon. I don't know what that translates to, but it's cheap compared to other countries.
I'm not sure on your pipe, so wait for someone else. I had the .15 and added the MIP tuned pipe. It was a good choice. I up graded to a 2.5 later, and used the same pipe. It worked out great.

Thanks everyone

Thanks i will do some testing with that one later. Need to step up fuel and things first. But took it out tonight (very cold but couldnt wait till the weekend) and i think i have problems with my 2 speed which i shall start a new post about.

Thanks again...
