What is the best engine for my tmaxx??? Right now I have a 2.5 in it.. So what Engine will give me more power??? I am not a racer I am just a basher.. So can anyone help me pick one out? My mom is gonna let me pick. Sum thing out I want a new engine....... PLEASE HELp
 
A 3.3 would be a direct swap and offer way more power. A picco .26 maxx is a brute of an engine, but a direct swap. You'll need to upgrade your driveline and tranny to run it, though. Is your 2.5 Maxx stock?

Yes it is stock besides skidplates(ikno that does not matter) so a 3.3 is just pull out 2.5 and put in 3.3. So if I get 3.3 I can keep my tranny and drivetrain... About how much is the 3.3 run for???
 
You can get a 3.3 for $100-130. You need to use your 2.5 flywheel, clutch, and starter. Better off to step up to the traxxas resonator pipe. If you have reverse, you'll want to do a forward only conversion. Diffs and drive shafts will be stressed, but you can upgrade them over time.

Ok I already got the resonator. Could I keep my f/r tranny. How much are diffs. Like 20 bucks?? Or is there any other engines I could swap to without doing that much work besides breaking it In and putting it in???
 
Reverse makes the tranny weak. It will break with reverse. Your gonna have to put a flywheel and clutch on any engine. It's only an e clip and one nut to swap them out. Diffs are around $25 a piece. You'll need drive shafts, turnbuckles and carriers eventually.
