OK, This is what I have:

- .21 T-Maxx Conversion
- Aluminum A-Arms
- Aluminum Skids
- Aluminum Bumpers
- And a few other aluminum parts
- CVEC Z165 Aluminum pipe
- Aluminum Piggyback shocks (60 wt. oil)
- Big Joes (Tires)
- Velocity 6 (Wheels)

Now I am planning on finishing this thing this weekend so I am unsure which motor to go with. Price is a big factor, Power low end and top.

I am looking for a engine that will rip pull these big joes up in the air.

So Far what I am looking at:
- OFNA/Picco .26 Pullstart
or
- Omega/Picco .21 Pullstart

Which would you use? Any experience?

Thanks
in Advance
Garrick

both of those engines are solid. Have you thought about the Hyper 8 port race engine w pullstart?

Engine

Ya I thought about it, but both LHS guys I spoke to said no do not get it for my set up.

WHich engine is better for what I want to do?

Omega/Picco .21 or OFNA/Picco .26

Looking for all around performance top sped and lift the Big Joe's off the ground?

Thanks

go .26 it has more power. ITs a torque monster from what I have heard. I have yet to see it run so take that as a grain of salt.

i vote picco.26 it will lift big joe and all that alumnum off the ground.trust me...

Engine

Man it's hard to find one with a Pull Start a .26 that is. They are either out of stock or don't have it.

How about this the Omega/Picco .21, but change the gearing. What gearing would you go with for speed?

Thanks for all your replies

Man, for the money the Traxxas .15 (T-Maxx 2.5 version) is hard to beat. I know it's small but tuned right, it spanks alot of bigger engines. And I think they're going for something like $150.

Engine

Why would I put a 2.5 in a .21 conversion?

I am probably going to get the .26 Picco or a Hyper .21 8 port which has been ported and re sleeved

I also wanted to do a .21 conversion, but changed my mind. I like the way my Maxx runs!

24.7

The XTM 24.7 is nice. Did you upgrade your trans so it will handel the HP.

24.7 Fasda

Fasda1,

Which trans do I need if I do go with a 24-7 XTM Engine do you have a link where I can purcahse one.

Thanks

i have the ofna 25 and it pulls my savage up in the air. for a monster i say go with the picco 26

Trans

Check out Robinsonracing.com You sould upgrade the internal gears. If you don't upgrade the internal gears make sure you leave the spur gear plastic. That way you strip the spur gear and not the plastic gears inside of the trans. The os 21 is nice also that is around $180.00, 24.7 $150.00, Hyper 8 $129.00 or the picco 26 for around 170.00 - These are all good engines it's up to you the amount you want to spend but over all the OS is the best quality.

Engine

Well I decided I got the .26 OFNA / Picco.

Now I need some gears again look at my set up I have up top in first posting.

What clutch bell and spur gear size and brand would you go with for what I do with it again posted in first post up top.

Thanks
Garrick

trans

If you don't change out the gears in the trans make sure you keep the spur gear plastic. The picco 26 has tons of low end so i would go with 23th bell and a 72 spur.

With the torque and hp that that picco .26 puts out, go with something big.....23 or 24 if you want to keep your stock 72 spur. The 23 will give you 3.1: 1 and the 24 = 3.0:1. That would be a nice top speed! You've got the power, why not use it?=devil
