Hey guys

My clutch shoes went out on my 9.5 Violator today after less than half a gallon of fuel :\

I'm just a basher, so which clutch shoes would be best? The sliding clutch's look like they might be good, but how durable are they? I haven't heard the best thing about aluminum shoes, so I'm staying away from them.

Should the clutch bell also be replaced?

Thanks for any help:thumbup:

I've got the PCR. At first I ran with the stock shoes then I went to the Ofna purple aluminum shoes. After running for a few tanks I switched back to the stock composite shoes.

The composites just made the engine hook up better. I much prefer the feel of those over the aluminum shoes.

I'd give the stockers another try, or see if MIP makes 1/8 scale shoes.

use composite shoes.. you really dont need to replace the clutchbell.. just take some sand paper to the inside.. and resurface it..

use prolly stock springs.. or maybe a little tighter than the stock..

Where can I find composite shoes? Should I replace the stock springs? What so the different colors of stock shoes mean?

Yes, replace the stock springs. The clutch springs can also wear out and weaken.

The only shoes that are different colors are the aluminum shoes. Different colors represent different weights of the shoes. The lighter the shoe, or the stiffer the spring, the later and harder the clutch will grap. The opposite goes for heavier shoes and weaker springs.
