I am big in to nitro rc but have never had a buggy I have a monster pirate and a evader st but would like too get in to buggys I want somthing reasinoble top 350

I recently purchased an XTM X-Terminator. I haven't got it yet(stupid shipping)but everyone suggested it to me for a first nitro buggy. I chose that over a Hot Bodies Lightning RR RTR.

Are you looking new or used? Kit? RTR? Etc.... New RTR you'll be limited to getting a lower end buggy with a cap of $350. You could luck out and find one on fleabay for that range. I think I saw a GS storm on fleabay NIB RTR for just under $400 but if your cap is absolutely at $350 then you'll need to look a little more.

yea i second el pirata becuase IMO buggies are the most expenisve car to buy!! I want a k2 and everything i want for it is coming out over $1500 and thats expensive!!

since no-one has asked yet. do you already have a radio and motor to install in the car? this will save you a lot of cost if you do. the new mayhem is out, and I've seen it arr without motor for about 380 already. you would just need to buy a pipe for it yet if you have the other stuff already.

if you need an entire setup, your best bet is the classifieds on here, rcuniverse, and ebay. just make sure you know what your getting when buying used.

eww do NOT get an axis. biggest POS made, as are most cars by duratrax. stay away.

anyways, i think the 2 best buggy's for you are the lightning and the x-terminator. i have an x-terminator, kicks ass for me so far.

YES!! stay away from duratrash. I can say this too becuase i owned 2 duratrax cars before and they are trash and POS. If i were you go on ebay and look. just make sure who you are buying it from has good feedbacks!

Well sice Nitro_Freak helped me decide on a buggy i agree with him. You could get a Lightning but parts are hard to find for the first version and the second version is very expensive. Or you could get a X-Terminator which is the route I went. It comes with a big engine(no good for racing), but I've heard is very popular. I got mine for only 319.99 on Hobby People and it comes with everything. Also it has lots of hop-ups available. If you racing don't with an X-Terminator because of the big engine.

Sorry to say this, but IMO if you only have 350 to spend you need to reconsider racing or even owning a buggy. I spend over 350 on my engine and pipe alone. No RTR will go a day of hard running or 1 event at a track without sustaining close to 100 bucks in broken parts. Best RTR I have seen tho that came out to the track was the Hyper 7. That is one tought RTR. OFNA's RTRs are tought too, but for the most part RTR means just doing donuts and dragging. The track will destroy these and without the engines you will be owned. I suggest 1/10th scale, like a RC-10GT. oh well have fun hope you find what you want. I am just not gonna lie. I will be honest and tell you buggy owners shell out lots of money keeping these machines going. :fro:

i second gaingreen on this one. buggys are really expensive and it is hard to get a good quality buggy for 350 smackaroos, like i said befoere have patiance and look on ebay. i am more then sure you will find something you will like.

Sorry, but i have to disagree. This will be the first buggy for him and he dosen't need to do anything more than bash around with it. If he was going to be competitive in this class then yes, 350 isn't going to get you very far but for a first buggy for bashing a 350 dollar RTR buggy should be fine IMO. Just my 2 cents.

If you really want to only spend $350, then get the Ofna Ultra MBX Pro. If you can afford it, get the Ofna PCR. But the MBX is a lot of buggy for the money, much better than the Axis that someone suggested.

if you race your buggy, then yes, i totally agree with GaInGrEEn. if you only bash, though, you don't have to spend that much money. you don't need a $200+ engine, $200+ radio system, then another $100 on servo's just for bashing. most rtr's today come with everything you need (except for a couple things like fuel and glow ignitors) for a super cheap price. of course they wouldn't be too competitive while racing, but even that can be argued. remember, it really is 90% driver, 10% machine.

Go with the Ofna PCR or PBS. I have two PBS's and beat the hell out of them and they keep going, gotta love it.
