hi @ all,

the day has come, the spektrum servos will go to fleabay and i need some confirmation, i was thinking about the Hitec combo 5965 & 5985 both are digital and have good ratings wherever i looked them up, now does anyone disagree that i should buy these ? better alternative ? and where would you guys send me to buy these servos, since there are quiet a few online retailers :) i would like to know where i should throw my business to....

thanks

I have the 985MG on my Baja 5b. It is the analog cousin to the 5985 and it works great. I like it and no problems, plus it is water resistant so I can run it in wet grass :D

Good choices, towerhobbies has some pretty good discount codes going on right now.

unfortunately they dont have the 5985mg in their assortment, and the 5965mg is about 10 bucks higher priced then most other places :(

i guess its back to the google board :(

here we go, anyone got a good review for these guys ?
Code:
http://www.rcmart.com/

they got both my servos for 150 + shipping, and they are actually the new versions (7965 & 7985MG )

but i would like to know if someone ordered there before ;)

Lots of people on drift forums order from them. I still have yet to order from them for my RC needs.

see, the fact that they are based in hong kong or somewhat in that area makes me kinda not want to order there due to customer service and such ;)

The next best place is towerhobbies, which has it for $190 plus shipping. I believe you still will have warranty from Hitec even if ordering from there.

i could of corse try to put a 805bb on the steering ;) but fun on the side, its goin to cost me a bit to get these servos :( i thought about spending somewhat around 150 for the servos that i need, guess ima have to save a cpl days more

Ahh, well that explains a lot. Yeah that seems reasonable. The 985/965 are about 70 each so it's not so much more for the digitals.

The Hobbico brand are rebadged Hitecs, check the specs and look at the pics....identical except for the stickers. Tower sells them.

the Hobbico CS-170 Std Digital Ultra Torq 2BB TG Servo U looks pretty decent for 90$ and 333 oz ;)

i think i d even take that over the 7985mg

nice catch there.
now is the 131 oz of the C160 good enough for throttle and brake function, what you guys think ?

Yes, I have the exact same two servos, except mine say Hitec. 130oz. of torque is more than plenty for throttle and brakes.

CS-160 and CS-170 are on the way :)

but does towerhobbies always ship so slow ? it said its expected to be here on the 4/5th of may which is over 5 days shipping, i dont know about you guys but if i order from newegg and get free shipping its here within 2 days :)

well i got my servos today, after 1 week waiting time :(

but horizon hobby needs like 4 weeks to maintain my dx3.0 :( thumbs down for bad service times

tower has gone down. they used to ship same day most of the time but lately it takes them 2-3 days to ship parts.

yeah i ordered on the 24th and got it today :( kinda long, as i see neweggs packages fly in 2 days after i order most of the time.
