Good morning to all- so, the morning early being calm and windless, I took myself and one of favorite little UMX planes- the 30 MM Viper edf- down to the flying field for a quick flight. Just a little ground fog- no big deal. I made a loooonnng take-off roll, and sent her up.
Fellers, that little "ground fog" was thick about 50 feet up. I totally lost sight of the plane. This plane being white and blue in color is hard to see at the best of times, and this morning was not the best times. That plane was lost- except for the sound. I was able to turn the plane around and using only the whine of the fans, I could bring her back in closer and closer, and finally emerged her from the fog.
I took her down at a very low altitude to the far end of the landing road, and brought her in for a smooth, loooong landing roll- this plane does nothing quickly on the ground- and rolled her to the side of the truck.
We came home. I'll fly after when the seeing is better...
you all be safe and keep ell- Ed
