Wheels falling off

Losi Aftershock........wheels keep falling off. I make sure the lock nuts are snug before I run it. I even used locktite the last time. So far its only been the rear wheels and it has happened to both in no particular order. The wheel seems fine, it mounts tight. Thinking it has to do with the plastic peice (stud) it mounts too. Is there a aluminum or steel upgrade?

If the nuts that hold them on have been on and off a few times the little nylon locking insert in the nut can get worn out, I would get some new nuts as well as clean the axles well and get all of the old loctite off before trying again, that should fix it.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought the same thing so I used some cleaner for the studs and bought new right/left nylocks nuts. The threads are not stripped. Maybe super glue is the order of the day

My other half has one of these and yep they do make aluminum ones for it. His kept falling off and since he bought the aluminum wheel hexes they have stayed on. Here is where he got his from

i upgraded to aluminum hexes on my truck also. make sure the pin is set into the insert in the hex itself and i put my wheels lugs on really tight with a small drop of BLUE lock tight, and make sure it dries before bashing.

Yeap I think letting them dry is the key. You can buy the locking nuts in a pack of a hundred for about $3 from somewhere like Fastenal or McMaster Carr
