hey how can i get my t maxx to do wheelies again. about a week ago i blew two of my rear shocks and replased them with big bore and 70 weight oil and could not pull wheelies so i went back to stock oil and still nothing so i tried messing with the spacers and nothing, so today i put a few new upgrades i went to a performance 3 shoe clutch with a slotted bell for cooling, and heavy duty springs on all four corners and still no wheelies i have a couple other upgrades on the truck like rpm a arms all four, rpm bilk heads and custom bumpers a full roll cage and bead lock rims and tires and still no wheelies so let me know what you think and would greatly appreciate it thanks :hammer:

+1 on the tuning

tighten your slipper...make sure you slipper pegs aren't burnt....
Put shock spacers on your shocks (front too) to stiffen the springs
you may break more drivetrain parts to get wheelies....because you are allowing the engine's torque to hit the driveline with no buffer....wheelies are fun for about an hour then you look at the damage it's doing to your driveline.....

Sounds like you've weighed it down a bit with the cage and beadlocks. Also if your big bores are like mine then the springs will be too weak with the extra weight. On top of all that I've found that my t-maxx just doesn't like to wheelie for some reason. I think it's the exhaust/fuel system because on my revo the same engine will pull wheelies all day long on the same tune. I even have a proline tank and ths pipe setup and it's still night and day from one truck to the other. I do have the extended chassis but it should still wheelie. I've been chasing after that ideal tune since I got it, but my revos run awesome all the time, frustrating.:\

mine used to wheelie like mad but i think either it needs a tad bit of being leaned out or my slipper is getting worn. what temps are you running at your plug?

it was doing wheelies with all upgrades including the cage and bead locks the problem did not arise until i changed the shocks

If the shocks caused it to not wheelie, and the springs are stiffer than the stock ones, your probably loosing traction from the truck not squatting when power is applied. I've never messed around with shock pistons, but they may be different from the old shocks to the new ones. Both the stock shocks and the big bores work the same if they're setup the same.

i agree, sounds like your loosing traction and have less weight transferring to the back. I kinda like how mine stays on the ground a little better but wheelies are fun to do now and again.

just tighten the slipper. I have also noticed that the t-maxx wheelies good when you first start it for the day, and them becomes harder to do after about 10min. of run time

This reply is a little late but wheelies are cool the first few times but then it can be bad! When i first got my maxx and wheelied to my hearts delight UNTIL, i was pulling a wheelie at full throttle hid a small bump in the pavement, truck went off course and before i could correct or stop, hit a curb. so one front bulkhead, 2 lower arms 1 upper arm, 1 toe link, and skid plate a intentionally adjust the clutch not wheelie!
