hay guys just got my new 3.3 upgraded from 2.5. i was wondering dose this thing have to be tuned perfectly to pull wheelies or can it be run a little rich. also dose this engine produce enough power to lift the big joe 40 series.

Everyone will tell you there's does wheelies right out of the box. I'm yet to see one, generally you need the following, which isnt much.
You need to stiffen the rear shocks, but if you're just a basher the black shock spacer clips will do fine, but you WILL need the tuned pipe on it, and yes you will need it tuned out pretty much to the Maxx. heh heh.
They will stand up yes, but tyres might not help you much either...

i upgraded to 3.3 i have cheyene 40 series with proline maxx mulcher tires 16 tooth clutch sprocket 56 tooth spur gear all aluminum except a arms and mine will stand up at will my tune is pretty close (always have to tune every time i get mine out). about half throttle pull the trigger stands up and will ride into second gear.

cool i already have heavy springs on it it is very stiff in the back only have stock pipe though. might also try putting diffrent spur and clutchbell.

won't this setup only increase max speed and decrease low end power? that's what I was told. if you know otherwise please inform.

my first maxx did wheelies even when it had a 2.5r in it.
when i upgraded it to a 3.3 i started getting wheelies when it shifted into second.

my second maxx that i bought new with a 3.3 in it from the factory gets wheelies from a stop but i had to stiffen the rear alot. i figured it would get more but it is kinda a heavy truck. it has alot of aluminum on it.
after awhile the wheelies get kinda old unless it is putting a smile on my kids faces.

Tuning plays a big part. My old school Maxx would wheelie with the OS .18 in it, but I had to tune it just right. Plus I stiffened the rear suspension and dropped the clutch bell to 18 teeth.

Now my Savage with the .28 in it....well....I have to tune it not to do wheelies.

I can get mine up into a good wheelie, but only if I hit a good dip hard and fast enough to lift the front end. I haven't been able to get a wheelie going from a flat surface, front end just doesn't want to pick up, and mine is pretty much "out of the box" as I haven't fiddled with anything.

i have a 3.3 and is running pretty rich sense is pretty hot here and my truck dose whellies on comand even through second gear all i did was tighten the slipper clutch one full turn from the factory setting

I've got 2.5 on an all aluminum maxx thats pretty heavy and a lot slower than the .15 on my pede's which is expected but when its tuned right it'll pull the front wheels off the ground...

One thing to note is the rear is locked and I have no front CVD's,diff or drive shaft... so I would expect the 3.3 to be able to pull them off

My 3.3 did wheelies out of the box as well. But after some time, it gained some weight, so I swapped to a Picco .26max to get what I wanted. Its more than enough power now!!
