I would like to keep this thread to people that have tried these engines if possible.

I am looking to get a better/bigger motor than the 3.3. I have been looking at the OS .18tz and .21tm. Also the Picco max .21 or .26 max. I know I will have to get the BB install kit (new era for sure) but how much more power will I see from say the Picco .26 to the OS .18? What else will I have to change as far as spur and clutch bell gears if I go with the .26?
I have been seeing so much info some saying that the Picco .26 is the way to go and others saying you will do nothing but break things. Some say that it is cake to tune and others say it is a beast to tune. I have finally got to where I can tell what my 3.3 is doing and can adjust accordingly but would like soome more power.

The Picco .26 Maxx has better bottom end torque IMO. The .21TM is more of a top end engine. I prefer the Picco for bashing.

Thats what I was thinking. Did you change anything else other than the mount and exhaust?

I have a Picco .26Max and it is a great engine. Holds a great tune... Hey Hamz, I was pretty sure the OS .21TM had more torque but less top end. That is from what I have seen anyway. I have ran against a .21TM and I always had more topend. But then again....a LOT of that has to do with tune and pipe combos....so OK, how about we say they are both great engines but the Picco is a $100 cheaper...lol.

Well I ordered the Picco .26 Red today :D along with the THS header and pipe and the New Era mounting kit. I can't wait to get it. :dancin:

You won't be sorry you ordered that combo. It will definitely put a grin on your face.

Man I can't wait. I just hope THS ships the pipe and it doesn't take them the full 1-3 day processing time. The .26 will be here Friday and the mount has shipped from Florida so it should be here Friday or Saturday. My buddy said I was a d!@k because he ordered his .18tz on Sunday and his wont be to his place till Monday lol

I never ran a THS pipe on my Picco but I did run an old Trinity pipe that I bought from another member. Never regretted it. The only down fall is that it is LOUD!

i ran a ths rear pipe on the picco red dot works but switched to the dynamite 053 side pipe made a world of difference the crt.5 jammin exaust header fits right up to the picco for easy fitting. not sure if anyone had this problem with the rear pipe on the revo heating up the shock and making them dampin weird

I swapped to the Picco 26 also. it is so much more fun. less top end but the torque is great. I run a Ths pipe and New Era mount. You will love it.

Anyone else that has this setup, Did you have to shim the transmission some for the gears? If not what gearing are you using? I am trying to get this 17cb and 38sg on here and even with a washer under the trans it isnt enough adjustment.

I'm runnin 17/38 u got new era mount ? i used some bushings under my tranny and got longer screws the bushings are thicker then washers add few more washer and use lil longer screw just be careful on screw thats under the spur gear lol i screwed right in to the tranny case i used a dremel to cut the screw down a lil

I got the 17/38 to fit with a little more work and grinding. It just fits mesh wise at the very least adjustment possible. I guess I will see if its good or not when I get my pipe in and can run it.
