I am breaking in my 2.5 and it seems that some times when I bring the car to a stop it seems to want to accelerate. oddly enough it goes away when I accelerate and brake. It happens off and on. WHAT THE HELL? I found something in the manula that it does that. Has anyone seen this happen?

Perfectly normal. It's the output gear engaging the clutch bell in the tranny.

As usual I feel obligated to insert the plug for a forward-only conversion here. No reverse, but fractionally lighter and faster with much smoother operation.

Yes, this is normal. Until the gears in the tranny and all of the clutches get used to working together (ie broken in), you will see some jerky starts from the line and while it idles.

I recommend what David stated above. Get the forward only conversion. Removes mass from the tranny. Gives smoother take offs from the line. And gives you more power to the ground. The only thing you lose is the ability to put it into reverse...and one would argue that an MT should be more capable of running over obstacles than backing away from them.

Yes but if I am far from it I really don't want to run over like i did today. Ok shoot me I am lazy:thumbsup:

Roger. We all have our preferences.

Who is Roger? Anyways how long will it take for that to go away? I went through the breakin process just like Traxxas said in the video and the thing still jerks like it is on crack. Well Let me know

Jonathan:alarm:

Really? I thought all of this would be gone after the Traxxass"Breakin" procedure. What the hell is going on here?Lol I want to do some serious jumps soon. I also want to get the lil quirks with Reverse module. I will play with the linkage according to Sky's advice.
Hey Eddy how do you figure that it will take 3/4 to a gallon?

My Maxx still jerks sometimes. It's not as bad as when I fist got it.

Team 17 your last post is not helping my confidence. I am hoping that this will go away as this worries me. I still need to get a failsafe still cuz the jerking feels like it is going to take off like a baat outta hell. Thanks a lot man!:D lol

It's a normal thing for the Maxx. Don't worry about it. lol

Sorry...aviator speak for okay is "Roger". It will take approximately a gallon of fuel for this behavior to go away.

Possibly your idle speed is set too high. Try lowering it and see if that helps some.
I've thought about the FOC many times, and even had it in my hands to buy at the hobby store, but I just can't do it! I use reverse way to much to get rid of it. It's the most convenient feature to have....you don't have to run 30 yards away to go pick up your truck because it got stuck, or you made a bad turn and it's head first against an obstacle.
To each their own! *speed VS convience*....it's up to you.
